D&D General Dmg previews up

I think new players are the market. This is not a new edition, experienced players don't need it (but still may find something useful).

I would rather pay professionals then scam of the internet constantly.
Not me. Art isn't that important to me in a rulebook.

Variant Rules may be in the toolkit like last time, we jut have to wait and see a bit.
I suspect that there will be a small number of commonly used variants in the DMG Toolkit Chapter, but not all of the ones from the 2014 DMG (many were nearly never used, though I bet that we will find at least one person complain that they're gone) and, with luck, maybe a new one or two.

I mean, technically, the entire Bastions Chapter is an Optional Rule, but if we're talking Variants to Rules that exist, I would expect to see "Gritty Healing", "Flanking", and one or two "Alternative Initiatives". Anything more would be a surprise.

To reinforce this point this cut from the video

The part to the right of Asmodeus seems to be the explanation of Devil’s normally in the Monster Manual.
That would be weird. Moving the monster lore out of the MM and into the DMG? That doesn’t seem right. It would be a waste of space to print it in both. But then there’s a lot of redundancy in the new PHB.

I think there'd be less of an emphasis on those optional rules, as they aren't too helpful to new DMs. But I could see some still remaining in the DMG.

They probably needed to explain who Asmodeus is, he has a bunch of weight through out D&D's history and Devils are a big thing in the cosmology of D&D.

The DMG has never been primarily a primer for brand new DMs. I don't know why they would make it so now rather than just use a starter set for that. There is a system in place.
