Assault on Dragonspear (5e PBP) OOC (Full)

When I say it's 'getting pretty long', I mean "us players typing"-wise. We can assume that more minor details were discussed, and there were likely some side-conversations. I figure the meeting has gone on for about half an hour at this point.

@Kobold Stew I'll leave it up to you if you want to send Oh-Six. He's pretty useful as a scout. I'm hoping we can get some potions of Protection from Evil so Floshin is protected. There isn't much Morgan can do without revamping the entire plan.

I also can't think of a way to prevent Ashfell or Shalendra from getting arrested. I'm not interested in fighting the guards or trying to flee. I feel it's best to keep our heads down so we can get moving before they think of a different way to delay us.

Does anyone else have a different idea?

Yeah it is probably best but then we lose our teleport to Dragonspear. Not sure how we can stop the arrest though.
Oh! I thought Delphen was teleporting us. I think Morgan can cast a scroll if they have one.

Edit: confirmed. It’s Delphen who will teleport us. If we can get to his tower and avoid any trouble along the way, we could head out. Technically, he can teleport us from here if he wants.

Yes, it is Delfen who is teleporting (I have, myself, spelled his name various ways, and I find that I find that the names Darfin and Delfen get confusing, especially since the one with "elf" in it is the Human, and the other the Elf).

Hey, I didn't name them.

And yes, it is knowing the pattern of the DESTINATION circle that is the important thing, not where the origin circle is drawn. It's simply easier to use Delfen's (or frankly, Isteval's - he has one at his own townhouse) TP Circle in a "don't have to draw out the whole thing"-sort of way. But yes, Delfen can send you directly from here, if he has to (and Darfin doesn't mind him drawing on the floor). It'll leave out Isteval's Horse, but then, to do that, they would likely need to publicly draw the circle in the street. Which, given the growing fear of Wizards in the Area, might be a Bad Idea.

Isteval would be willing to make the difficult march on his bad leg from the TP circle "South of Bowshot" to The Way Inn, where he can purchase a horse. He can try to purchase horses for everyone, if you like. It's not "faster" to have horses (not by the day) but it IS faster by the hour (you simply spend more time resting the horse, at various camps), AND you've used less of your own efforts during the travel time, which would give your PCs some "downtime" during travel, that you may use to do other things.

With the additional haste, it seems the separate groups are doing nothing that will allow them to maintain contact with the other. Tommi doesn't think that's wise, but he's had his say, and doesn't possess the magic needed to do it himself.

Does he hope that they are able to find the group at one of the other sites? Does he hope that it will be at Dragonspear Castle? He really doesn't know. But They've bought a bit of time with Sherlen, and that, he supposes, is enough. Tommi steps through, Oh-six hovering just behind him, as he steps into the grassy field.
I don't know if I responded to this. I'm not sure if leaving Oh-six to follow the others would work? He'd have to sneak through the portal. There's really nothing Morgan can say or do to help in that regard. I don't have scry, only Sending. He doesn't even have a familiar to send. Or any potions to offer. Or any spells that would last long enough to protect them.

I'm out of ideas for how to protect or spy on those who are working alone, without physically going with them - which they don't want.

Sorry -- it wasn't meant as a critique (of you or anyone); just me throwing my hands up. We can always use sending when the time comes, and at least let them know of out situation, and they could theoretically re-open a portal like they are doing now. That might be enough to cover bases, assuming all are as they appear (which they may be).
