Okay, just curious where people are at as far as abilities used up and current HP. If you could list it for me.

My feeling is that you all lost some HP but didn't really use many of your main abilities?

Did you enjoy the Market challenge? Is there anything you disliked or thought could have been changed or improved? I might run this for one of my groups I play with.

You had two good options for approaching the Temple and the other one would have had you do a single sneak check with the possibility of one encounter if you failed. But you wouldn't have gathered anything.

As far as loot gathered, I'm still tallying up what you got.

Hey @TaranTheWanderer !

I really enjoyed the market. Trying to figure out how to get potions was tough and fun. I actually enjoy challenges that aren't too straight forward - nothing like using one's brain cells.

I'm realizing that I'm a too frugal with my warlock spell slots. Benny has all his slots. I'm seeing that we'll regularly have short rests, so I may start consuming them more. And if we can get more holy water from this nice priest, Benny will start using protection against evel way way more.
Max has used all his non-at-will abilities (bonus to saves and detect magic cast).

Benny HP 14/17, Full HD; Max HP 13/24; 1/7 HD. Here are the minisheets:
Benny
AC 14 (19 with shield spell used as a reaction)
Spell Save DC 13
HP/HP 14/17 (4+7 from healing potion-5 necrotic+8 healing potion)
Passive Perception (PP): 13
HD/HD; 2/2

Benny has 1 vial of holy water (each vial has 3 castings of protection from evil)

Maximilian
AC 13
Magic Resistance. The sphinx has Advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Resistances: Necrotic, Psychic, Radiant
HP/HP 13/24
Senses Darkvision 60 ft., Passive Perception 11
HD/HD; 1/7

Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback.

I was worried that I was pushing things too hard but, in the end, you guys were holding back so it was probably okay.

I think you have 3 vials of holy water which is 6 castings of protection from evil. The priest can probably provide you with a bit more.

Catching up. First, it appears that I forgot (or glossed over?) the required constitution save.
Con Save (Belated): 1D20+2 = [4]+2 = 6

Oh well. 5 pts, but necrotic resistance (round down) so 2 hit points damage. Stat block reads as follows:

AC16 Passive Perception 17
HP 15/20 HD 1/2
SSdc13 Slots 2/2
Hunters 1/2 Healing 1/1 Teleport 1/2
Inspiration: 1/1

Updated hit points to reflect loss (from 17 to 15 - I previously used a HD to add healing from the upstairs encounter). In addition, assume next combat will need a fresh hunter's mark, so that will bring that down to 0/2. It's been kind of timey-wimey, but it seems correct? That's really my main resource use*, but I've been assuming I'm going to be using my spell slots for it as well in the future.

I REALLY ENJOYED THE MARKET CHALLENGE! It was a nice diversion, and you did a great job with the atmosphere. I felt the pressure, and I have to say that the upstairs encounter had me more than a little worried that I'd be rolling up a new PC.

At this point, Caer is taking a breather and trying to figure out what the pendants are.

Overall, I'm really enjoying this PbP and playing this character in it. Thank you Taran!

*I haven't been explicitly noting the use of bonus actions to move HM, since Caer doesn't have any other use for bonus actions and it doesn't matter. If it comes up, or if you want me to explicitly note that there is a bonus action use, I will do so.

You used one hunter's mark either in the original battle or the kitchen battle. I think you used a second one? I have to check. The time from making to the Inn and the battle in the kitchen and the prep was probably an hour.

The only time the bonus action came into play was in the upstairs room where you cast a spell near the open door and attracted the undead dog.

I'd hoped to get more use out of both them and the chickens....especially the chickens...

Chickens. Why did it have to be chickens?

I’ll post Deirdre’s status in a bit, but in short the market (and whole adventure) has been really fun. Running a cleric against hordes of undead is right up my alley.

It was a fun encounter. My only note is the small one regarding knowing what to roll for and what not to roll for (for example when both trying to pick a bauble and coax a kid while at the pendant table, but under the general constraint of "one check per minute round"). Otherwise, all good. It was very interesting story and challenge-wise!

Never cast a spell there- did have healer's kit applied to me before the dog. The only spell I've cast (other than HM) was in the first combat when I GET OVER HERE'D (thorn whip'd) a zombie to give the young squire room to escape, but that's a magic action, not a bonus action, and it was my only action that round.

The only time when I will have a bonus action conflict AFICT is when I have to both activate the shillelagh and activate (or retarget) the HM on the first round that combat begins. That's why I was asking about shillelagh earlier- it lasts for ten rounds and is an at-will cantrip, so I assume it's active unless we are surprised by a combat, in which case I have to use bonus action to shillelagh up and then HM the next round.
