Trailer Lanterns | Official Teaser | HBO Max

Must be cultural, I have a cousin who is an Airforce pilot (flying helicopters for the Navy funnily enough), he doesnt swear that much and certainly not like a sailor
Or maybe the military don’t swear any more or less than any other profession, and it has more to do with socio-economic background.

My take on that trailer is that Hal is an ignorant thug, and not a character I find appealing. If that is the intent, and to make Jon clearly the good guy, then his language seems appropriate. Note that I haven’t read the comics (I find the premise rather silly).

The swearing sheriff seemed more “off” to me. British police officers are trained to be polite when dealing with the public, and I have personally never heard one swear.

I would tend to think that most who were first introduced to Asgard via the artwork of Jack Kirby would immediately accept that magic is just advanced science.

And "First Avenger" rang true to the '60s Cap that I grew up with. A big Boy Scout.

Watch a few Youtube videos of American police officers during stressful arrests and you'll likely get it.

That sounds nice. I cant get into to it too much but police in America are basically beyond reproach, so they do whatever they want.

Right...

De-escalation is simply a matter of self preservation. British police don’t carry firearms so it is in their interest to resolve situations without violence.

Of course, not all police officers are paragons, but those I know had it drummed into them.

THe cartoon "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" did a better job of introducing both Thor and Captain America (and their worlds) in 22 minutes than those movies did in 2 hours.

I would argue that they did detract, because there was the baggage of poor concepts afflicting--um... "Informing" the actors, writers, and director, not to mention the audience.

And if you my view of Marvel movies is a "hot take," don't get me started on "The Godfather" or "Citizen Kane." Or T.S.Eliot's "The Wasteland."
