Nah, they just have Advantage versus Corruption and Sam only had to make the one saving throwI mean, I ran that simulation a thousand times, and hobbits never saved the world.
I think the author was using metacurrency.

I thought the CR on Mount Doom was too low.Nah, they just have Advantage versus Corruption and Sam only had to make the one saving throw
It actually does. They have telepathy. They are physically stronger, faster, more hardy, more intelligent, wiser, etc. They also have other supernatural abilities. They had the gift of foresight/prophecy. They had healing hands, a quasi-supernatural ability with healing that could be amplified by the lore they learned. Gandalf warned Pippin not to lie to Denethor, because Denethor could see into people and discern the truth. They lived longer lives. And more. That Boromir and Aragorn are from some older lineages does not give them abilities beyond that of other humans.
You used the giant eagles, didn't you?I mean, I ran that simulation a thousand times, and hobbits never saved the world.

I told the GM wizards were a broken class; he had to learn the hard way.You used the giant eagles, didn't you?
Frodo's player: Right, I haven't spent a single meta point this whole campaign, watch this! [Slams 20 poker chips on the table]I mean, I ran that simulation a thousand times, and hobbits never saved the world.

Aragorn is Dunedain - and they routinely live past 100, even 150... versus normal men's 70.as I said, pick a different low magic setting then. That Boromir and Aragorn are from some older lineages does not give them abilities beyond that of other humans. It gives them standing in the setting, but as far as abilities go he is not special and comfortably fits into the equality we were discussing
Since people in real life are not generally main characters with loads of plot armor in a story, treating them as such in a game absolutely is a simulation issue. You have whatever fights you want about your own table. Since nobody here is at your table, we aren't involved in those fights.
I just note that rejecting worlds in which the PCs are exceptional is not a simulation issue - that's a separate issue of your personal taste in genres.
I absolutely have. @Umbran was the one talking about battles, so ask them if you have an issue with phrasing. What is there to fight about? As you’ve said, you’ve run multiple fantasy and sci-fi games of your own creation with modern rulesets. That sounds like you’ve won.
I don't get the joke."Nothing is over! Nothing! You just don't turn it off!"
