That Boromir and Aragorn are from some older lineages does not give them abilities beyond that of other humans.
It actually does. They have telepathy. They are physically stronger, faster, more hardy, more intelligent, wiser, etc. They also have other supernatural abilities. They had the gift of foresight/prophecy. They had healing hands, a quasi-supernatural ability with healing that could be amplified by the lore they learned. Gandalf warned Pippin not to lie to Denethor, because Denethor could see into people and discern the truth. They lived longer lives. And more.

as I said, pick a different low magic setting then. That Boromir and Aragorn are from some older lineages does not give them abilities beyond that of other humans. It gives them standing in the setting, but as far as abilities go he is not special and comfortably fits into the equality we were discussing
Aragorn is Dunedain - and they routinely live past 100, even 150... versus normal men's 70.

You have whatever fights you want about your own table. Since nobody here is at your table, we aren't involved in those fights.

I just note that rejecting worlds in which the PCs are exceptional is not a simulation issue - that's a separate issue of your personal taste in genres.
Since people in real life are not generally main characters with loads of plot armor in a story, treating them as such in a game absolutely is a simulation issue.
