On of my closest friends and an old time D&D player is coming to town and I want to have a retro D&D game night for him. I'm all about the props as a DM and I even want the character sheets to be memorable.
I seem to remember that Dragon Magazine would print very artistic character sheets...
I'm always stunned when this thread topic comes up on the Enworld.
In every game I've ever played there has been cross-gender player or more at the table. It's never been a problem.
Encountering so many posters with the same gender rule always leaves me scratching my head.
The child in me has to say Unearthed Arcana (1e) because it was the first book I actually owned. Loved it.
But otherwise:

I don't think WotC should publish the setting. Like Ravenloft they should hand off the publishing to a 3rd part, once WotC has published their psionic rules for 4e.
And just to add. I am eagerly awaiting to see what 4e does to druids. They were until 3.0/3.5 my favorite class. I never understood why 3.0 made shape shifting so important to druids. I always thought that their spell list and hierarchy is what made them interesting.
This all sounds good to me, except I don't see any mention of plant or terrain magic, which is my favorite style of Druid. I hope some form of entangle, balanced for a proper spell level, is kept in the 4.0 druid.
