    Shelving

That is indeed an Expedit shelf. I think I spent a few dollars over $80 when I bought it. The nice thing is that the dividers act like shelf supports, with the shelf board going through from the left to the right of the whole shelf.

    Shelving

I have some 20 year old shelves full of my main RPG books, and they look fine. As this won't help you, here is an image of one of my IKEA shelves, which are sturdy and easily available:

    D&D-ism you would sacrifice?

Alignment The arcane/divine divide Clerics and how healing is handled (I like the concept of Paladins, though) I should add that all these points have already been mentioned upthread, and there are "D&D variants" that implement these.

D&D - Mediaval Social, Political & Economical Structure.

I completely agree. I have already done the Wild West comparison in several discussions myself. Plus, social conventions and sensibilities from the late 20th century. There's nothing medieval about D&D. Even the "medieval" trappings look more like 19th century ideas thereof.

Greyhawk vs Dragonlance vs Forgotten Realms vs Mystara vs Birthright

I could pose the counter question: Which aspect of the FR has a medieval feel to you? Plate armor and swords? To me, the FR have mostly the atmosphere of the Western genre, just with swords and magic missiles instead of guns. You have these huge swathes of wilderness for exploration, old ruins...

Greyhawk vs Dragonlance vs Forgotten Realms vs Mystara vs Birthright

I don't know enough about Mystara or Birthright to judge them, and I certainly dislike Dragonlance. Which leaves Greyhawk and the Forgotten Realms. I guess that, just from the concept, I like Greyhawk somewhat better, but the Forgotten Realms are the place of many fond memories, so I have to go...

    Druid feat selection

So, Rapid Spell speeds up prepared summonings to one standard action, whereas spontaneous summonings still take a full round, right? At least that's how I understand the description.

    3.X Gamers?

I don't personally know many people who play D&D, which means that my vote is for a very small sample size. I only know 3.5 players.

    Druid animal companion.

I guess this is one of those cases where it means "Ask your DM!". Sometimes things like that are mentioned in the monster entry ("This animal as animal companion"). As later books override earlier ones, that's always a good explanation.

    Druid feat selection

I know this in principle, but I got only 9% more last time, and usually I get less XP than everyone else, as the DM likes to say something like "Just give yourself one point below the next level". I might talk to him about this, though.

    Druid feat selection

Hmm, yes. Scribe Scroll is not very exciting, but may be useful, as we do not have anyone who can produce anything in the party. But given that my char is dead last regarding XP, I'm a bit hesitant to spend XP on item producing. Rapid Spell and Imbue Summoning sound good, too, although the...

    Imbue With Spell Ability

Usually, it means "in my campaign".

Thanks for the suggestions, although I guess that the second feat would annoy my GM to no end :D.

    Druid feat selection

You only get the Ashbound feat as member of the Ashbound. Our group doesn't raid villages, we may help them. We even became formal members of the Brelish army at some point, because of a convergence of goals. This does not gel with an Ashbound in my view, and definitely not with my DM's view.

    Druid feat selection

Those look like wizard feats to me ? I don't think Faerunian stuff will fly in our campaign. Being an ashbound would heavily clash with our campaign style, so I better refrain from taking it. Of course, natural spell is a given. Extend and quicken look like good choices at their...
