Intruders you be. Taken care of you will be! you hear this voice, and see another gnome come out of the trees. He moves while turning on himself at dazzling speed in a dazzingly white, weird dress, and ends his strange move in a strike pose, with a hand on his flank, and another extended on the opposite side, his index pointing up.
[sblock=ooc]Yes, it's a gnome dressed like Elvis and posing like John Travolta.[/sblock]
With a quick flick, he points the finger at you instead. Ikni, Lorik, Haruka, Galinndan and Derien suddenly feel dizzy, and as the world spins around them, they feel like they've lost a proper footing.
Seeing that their diplomatic approach seems to have no effect besides inviting hostile reinforcements, the party attacks.
Lorik can't hit the elf archer, though it does scratch him with the point of his sword.
Haruka casts a spell that depletes the elf's life energy, and drops him on the ground, unconscious.

[sblock=perception 15]Romulin is catiously backing away...[/sblock]

The first elf comes in the open again, and shoots another arrow at Ikni. Those things are starting to hurt.

[sblock=initiative ans status, round 1-2]Ikni, Lorik, Haruka, Galinndan and Derien are slowed (save ends). Haruka drops the elf. I'm considering the damage non-lethal, which I suppose is what you agreed on.
Joe: the vegetation is indeed unpassable terrain(not partially occupied squares) so you can't get total cover; however, I'll adjudicate in a way (indirectly) favorable for you and won't let your readied action trigger since the Elf dropped. Same for Derien.

Ikni's blade moves in a complex arc that leaves a trail of glowing motes in the air, drifting towards the dancing gnome. She frowns at the elven archer, but cannot reach him with her head spinning so badly. She steps to the side and attacks the nearest foe.

[sblock=actions]Minor: aegis of shielding against the dancer
Move: shift to L7
Standard: booming blade vs. gnome 2, hits AC 15 for 10 damage, and if that hits, another 1d6+3 thunder damage if he moves away on his turn.

Can I suggest a Commander's strike and an inspiring word for Galinndan's actions? :)

ooc:cov, Galinndan will do that. I don't think Jbean will be back, but I'll give him time till the end of the encounter. By the end of it, or immediately after, he'll disappear in a way or another (don't worry judges, I won't kill him). The party could use some leaderish help, but I've always hated npc-ing pcs, sorry. You have a cleric anyway.

Galinndan approaches the gnome in melee with Ikni and Lorik, yelling: Now's the moment, Ikni. The genasi tries an attack in the opening of the gnome, but can't touch him.
The gnome behind the first line shoots another crossbow dart at Ikni, and hurts him some more, the moves out of view.

[sblock=initiative and status, round 2]Ikni saves vs slow. He heals 8 hp with Galinndan's Inspiring word (he has spent both). He attacks on Galinndan's commander's strike, but misses. Galinndan makes his save too. Ikni takes 6 dmg from gnome 1.

ooc:lol, I had rolled for you, cov. Eeehhh I'll be good and give you a choice: do you want to use my roll for your save or keep it and use it for another roll at your choice? ;)

ooc: Ha! Well, I might as well take your save roll. Having a natural 14 in the bank is tempting, but it's more fun when you don't know in advance whether or not you're going to succeed.
