@Steve Gorak we might not want to conjure an illusionary fog cloud if everyone in the common room can see it - might panic them. Maybe wait until we are all inside to do it?

We'll "go get food" or something and slip through the door either way. People are probably already suspicious, we just need to avoid a panic, not have everyone believe it.

For surprise, it now just gives you advantage on your initiative roll. Since that’s really not a thing in PbP, maybe just give advantage to attack for those that make their stealth roll? I know it’s highly unlikely that Deirdre will!

Yeah, sure, that works best for pbp. If you win surprise(in this situation, make your dc 9 stealth check), you get advantage. In pbp I usually let player act first anyways, but in off chance that PCs fail to spot an ambush, I'm going to let the enemies attack first with advantage. Does that work?
