Tommi struggled free of the worg's teeth and cut it deep with gutter. The hyena-thing yipped and said (because it could talk), "Yerr gonna rregrret that, boy!

And it jumped forward, teeth bared. Tommi dove to the side as the jaws snapped shut, and rolled to his feet.

OOC: Tommi got the Worg for 19, and it missed him. I'll adjust Tommi's HP. I always forget Uncanny Dodge, which is funny, because I play rogues at least 1/3 of the time that I make my own characters.

Helgrim grunts in pain as the huge hyena bites into him and shakes the dwarf around. Amazingly the ancient warrior manages to land on his feet, his focus now on the lesser opponent.

"Fine, I'mma take ye down first, ye overgrown pup!"

With his waraxe, Helgrim starts swinging at the creatures legs, hoping to cut some vulnerable muscles.

OOC: Strength check: 1D20+7 = [9]+7 = 16 (success)

Attack (with Extra Attack) Worg2. The first attack to hit becomes a Trip Attack maneuver (spending a superiority die, as adjusted in the mini-stats below):

First attack: 1D20+7 = [7]+7 = 14 (hit; add SD)
1D8+6 = [4]+6 = 10 plus 1D8 = [3] = 3 for a total of 13 damage
Second attack: 1D20+7 = [3]+7 = 10 (miss)
1D8+6 = [5]+6 = 11 damage

For the first attack, the Worg needs to make a DC15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

If it fails, by the way, Helgrim has advantage on the second attack due to it being prone. Rolling that advantage to see if it hits after all: 1D20+7 = [19]+7 = 26. So yeah, it it fails that Strength ST, it takes 11 more damage. :)

Edit: Oh, and Vairar cast Bless on Helgrim, so I forgot to roll a d4 for each attack! So add in another 3 and 1! (Doesn't change the above, though. ;) )

Vairar sent a blessing upon those in combat and fought his way through the rushing water back to the rope while holding his shield over his head. Finally, his gantlet grabbed rope, and he steadied himself as water rushed around him.

Helgrim tried to hack the legs out from under the hyena-worg, but it leaped at him at just that moment. The dwarf ducked low, and got a good cut in with his axe while avoiding the thing's snapping jaws, but both of them kept their feet.

OOC: Vairar cast bless and got his rope. Helgrim did 13 to HW2 who missed him.

Lunn swings wide cutting into the muscled leg of the suddenly huge gnoll and letting his axe go wide. This in turn leads to full-body swing from behind over his head and straight into its shoulder, narrowly missing its head.

Given the barbarian usual swing power this could easily have split the head and end the creature, but it got lucky this time.

OOC: missed taking it out by 4 hp :(

In spite of its ferocity, Lunn was able to bring the big mutant gnoll down with a mighty blow from his axe. A sound not unlike yipping laughter from the north revealed more gnolls on the way and then a volley of arrows rained down on Lunn, striking him with two of them.

Vairar was also the target of some bow fire, but he had his shield up to keep it out of the water, and the arrows struck there.

OOC: I recalculated damage done to Gnoll1 (the enhanced one) and Lunn was able to finish him off. I had meant for the Gnoll Hunters to arrive last round, but they are here now. I will put them at the top of the map (though they would have opened fire from further away). Lunn took 8 & 10 (so 9?) from arrows.
