D&D 5E Interior wall construction

I'm doing a "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" sort of module, and I'd like for the party to be able to move around inside the interior walls of a wizard's mansion.

I am quite certain that 2x4 framing with drywall is not period appropriate. I can justify 2x4s and plaster/drywall with "Fabricate to make easy construction materials" but I'd rather not.

What period-appropriate-ish options do I have for framing and wall construction that allows for "inside the walls" movement?

Mud and wattle was probably most common, but that’s solid. Overall, interior walls were only a thing in richer homes.

Victorian Age has (can’t think of the name), which was slats of thin strips of wood covered over with plaster, with the slats nailed to upright posts, which weren’t uniform in thickness.

However, I say don’t worry about bringing in anachronistic elements - do what’s fun.

Lath.

I think it is perfectly cromulent to do what is cool rather than what is historically accurate.

Outer walls may have been stone, but not typically bricks like we think. Square, flat stones made the outside of the walls, but gravel and fill was used inside. This left voids and pockets that mice and such could burrow through between the outside stones. Inside walls would tend to be thin and single layered, but that does not work, so you could have double wicker walls with mortar on the outside to make smooth. They could be filled with hay or such to make cavities.

Not exactly "historically" accurate, but here are some ideas for you:
