High level city encounter suggestions needed, thanks

Don't forget animated objects. From simple brooms trying to clean rooms with no bristles and carts performing rounds to long destroyed rooms. To deadly magical adamantine weapons guarding private chambers or buildings and siege engines manned by animated suits of armor.

    Player Problems with Character Wealth

And how would the parties wealth affect the DMs ability to "accurately present the scale of those challenges"? A DM needs to determine the characters abilities to challenge them regardless if their wealth level is less then a 1st level characters, close to that stated in the DMG, or having more...

    The gods didn't go epic!

Personally I use what was listed for the gods as being for their avatars, the gods themself were 4 or 5 times more powerful(what ever the modifier for their avatars was).

    Toughness Redesigned

My houserule is characters die at negative(10+Level+Con modifier). So toughness adds to that total. As for the MotW feats I would apply the the same changes as Toughness. (Don't own MotW so names might be wrong) Dwarf's Toughness(normally +6 HP) would be add +10 HP, +10%, + negative 2...

    Extra Spell Redesigned

Glad you like it and I don't mind if you use it, thats why I posted it. One of the problems I have with Sorcerers is that at high levels they stop gainning low level spells(1st-3rd). I'm fine with being limited to the number of high level spells i can know, but I like the low level spells.

Raise Dead / Resurrection / Reincarnate: Character to be raised must make a Constitution check(DC 11)(a 1 always fails). Bluff(Feinting in Combat) Redesigned

Bluff(Feinting in Combat): Provides a bonus to hit equal to ½ the character’s level(round down, minimum of 1) +1, instead of denying the target is Dexterity bonus. The target adds it Dexterity modifier to its Sense Motive check in addition to its base attack bonus. This would make it useful to...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Skill point adjustments to 3.5 D&D

I have a houserule that all classes(core and prestige) have a minimum of (4+Int) skill points per level and have found no problem with it. It helps character creation because players don't have to have a high Intelligence just to have enough skill points to have the skills they want their...

Mercenaries doing the work of the PCs?

As others have said a group that size is too small to have a real effect of an area that size. Also how are the mercs operating, as one large group or as several smaller groups? A large group has a bigger logistics problem and takes longer to travel. A large group is also easier to hear and...

Simplifying my life...can any of you relate?

I agree with Umbran and Piratecat. Before I moved I was with a group that had the same problem(self included). We were jumping from Rifts to D&D(2nd and 3rd) to Champions to Feng Shui, etc. Most games last only 2-3 months(gaming once a week). We would never go back to a old game, always starting...

    Monk/Paladin help...

I knew a player who would roll stats like those almost all the time(using 4d6 method), and all the rolls were in front of the group. Using his dice, my dice, the DM's dice, it didn't matter.

    Bearman race

Personally I think it is to powerful for it level. It has the following: +3 Natural Armor(guessing AC 15 -2 from Dex leaves +3 Natural) 2 Claw attacks at 1d8 and a bite attack a 2d8(a Polar Bear[size large] has claw attacks doing 1d8 and a bite doing only 2d6). I would make the claws do 1d4...

    Monk/Paladin help...

For people to be able to better help you, you need to give them more information. Such as race(if important), you stats(either what you rolled or the point buy number(25, 28, etc.), campaign setting(if any), what books do you have access to/or are allowed to use.

"This game will bury you" vs. "This game is a flash-in-the-pan"!

I got to agree with Henry about Feng Shui. Its simple, fast paced, and fun(in the over the top kind of way). It may not be a game thats played all the time, but for people who have played it chances are it will be one of their top five games. P.S. Henry I am a Rifts fan so reply and be able...
