Is it me or is death knell a crap spell?

Death Knell is normally a standard action to cast, so this is a good candidate for Quicken Spell, taking up a level 6 spell slot.

Is it me or is death knell a crap spell?

Death knell of the double-cursed chicken Buy a chicken (PHB, really cheap). Cast Bestow Curse on it to give it a "–6 decrease to an ability score" -- selecting Wisdom as the ability score you decrease. Cast it again to give it "–4 penalty on attack rolls, saves, ability checks, and skill...

Hold the Line + Reach Weapon = 2 AOOs per charge?

Yes, two AoOs. And Combat Reflexes is a prereq for Hold the Line.

Cloak of Minor Displacement & friendly spellcasting

Magical healing does indeed stabilize a dying character, but if the displaced character is dying, he's not very cooperative about receiving that touch spell from a friendly spellcaster, so I'd probably apply the miss chance in that case.

Cloak of Minor Displacement & friendly spellcasting

Touching your buddies is automatic SRD === Touch: You must touch a creature or object to affect it. A touch spell that deals damage can score a critical hit just as a weapon can. A touch spell threatens a critical hit on a natural roll of 20 and deals double damage on a successful critical hit...

    Multiple Arms and Grapple

It doesn't specifically allow you to attack the grappled opponent with your other limbs. Your DM may allow you to do it, but, as you can see, the rules don't actually say that you can.

    Multiple Arms and Grapple

Kind of. The Improve Grab ability will let you take a -20 on your grapple check and use your other limbs to attack other opponents. It doesn't specifically allow you to attack the grappled opponent with your other limbs.

    Charge and Hover

If you're talking about the Hover feat, the answer depends on which round your dragon is trying to charge in. SRD === HOVER [GENERAL] Prerequisite: Fly speed. Benefit: When flying, the creature can halt its forward motion and hover in place as a move action. It can then fly in any direction...

"Sudden" metamagic feats...am I missing something?

Sigh. I point out a couple of facts and what do I get? Sarcasm and name-calling. Ask your DM which versions of the feats are used in your campaign, then follow the rules your DM uses. If your campaign uses the "most recently published rules" meta-rule, then the Complete Arcane version of these...

"Sudden" metamagic feats...am I missing something?

That depends on which version of the Sudden feats you use in your campaign. The original Sudden feats from Miniatures Handbook had a rule that they don't increase the casting time for spontaneous casters. The most recently published Sudden feats from Complete Arcane do not have that rule -- so...

    Are 3 Armor Classes enough?

What's your Brilliant Energy AC? What's your Shocking Grasp AC? What's your AC with hastily donned armor? What's your AC while helpless (effective Dex 0)?

Summon Swarm: Too powerful with errata

Here's a way to control a swarm (kinda, sorta, sometimes): Use Dancing Lights to create "one faintly glowing, vaguely humanoid shape." It sure looks like a creature, and since Dancing Lights is an evocation with no saving throw, a mindless swarm is (sometimes) fooled into following it around.

    Druid: High powered, Low Level

No matter what creature you're riding, you can make a DC 15 Ride check to get Cover from Mount -- this gives you a +4 bonus to your AC. Since you have a high Dex and Ride as a class skill, you should almost always be riding something, even if it's not your animal companion. Get a warhorse at the...

    Druid: High powered, Low Level

At level 3 druid, try Produce Flame. You can toss three balls of fire (one per caster level) as ranged touch attacks for 1d6+3 damage. You're at +6 on these attacks due to your BAB and Dex. That's better than you'll do with any mundane weapon. Your elven hound is a decent melee combatant. You...

    Breath Weapon AoE: Line

The rules for "line" dragon breath weapons are a little different from "line" spells. SRD === A blast from a breath weapon always starts at any intersection adjacent to the dragon and extends in a direction of the dragon’s choice, with an area as noted on the table below. === SRD - Dragon...

    Running into an invisible wall?

I already have such a rule: You don't take any damage from running into immovable objects. That covers everything and it's pretty darned short. I'm in the dark why you'd want to do anything different. Does this happen a lot? Are creatures running into invisible walls very often in your campaign?

    Running into an invisible wall?

The rules don't impose any damage from running into a wall. I suggest that you do NOT impose any arbitrary house rules here. In real life, people almost never die from running into a wall, but my two-year-old gets an amazing number of miniscule yet colorful bruises from his seemingly unending...
