What are people doing with their 3.x colletions?

Playing DnD. I have too many books and have spent too much time on 3.5 to switch just as soon a new, untested product comes out. Same reason I'm using windows XP....

    Help me find Dwarven Warcries!

I just recently played a dwarven warblade worshipper of Hanseath (from RoS). He died at one point and the DM took some disturbing liberties in describing the afterlife awaiting him. After he was raised he did occasionally go with the war cry "BY Hanseath's Ale Filled Teats", which wold...

Lookin' fo' a playa' in Pittsburgh

So, I'm currently in a 3.5 group in Pittsburgh and one of our players in about to finish med school and move away. Since we are already at 4 (3 and DM) we're looking for 1 or 2 to join as players and maybe DM (but not required) at some point We're all mid 20's to mid 30's, meet once a week...

Those Neutrals Make Me So Mad!

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Why is the CN guy necessarily self righteous? He may not care how others act. The LG guy would probably have big problem the first time the CE guy stabbed someone for looking at him funny, even he does know he's a "bad dude".

Those Neutrals Make Me So Mad!

I would think that LG and CE would be the least able to get along.

How much of your typical play time is combat?

I chose 50 - 60% (but upon thinking it could be 40 - 50%) even though we are in a fairly role-playing heavy campaign. I chose the larger percentage because combat takes is time consuming. We may only run into a single combat encounter during a session, but if it isn't a trivial situation it...

Are these still available? The original link didn't work and I couldn't find them in the downloads section.

Dwarven Defender who polymorphed into a Hill Giant?

I tend to agree that this would not cause the Dwarf to suffer any penalties, other than maybe some ribbing by his companies. He is not espousing the merits of Hill Giants, but merely using that form as a tool kill the enemies at hand. Dwarfs may hate giants (well, not all giants, I think they...

A question for super science geeks!

So, I'm from Rural Maine orignally. Up there we have lots of trees to burn to keep warm (heck we have winter for about 7 months all said and done). This is also a rural state with a low population density, my thinking is that a significant portion of the state would survive (bye-bye Portland...

A question for super science geeks!

With 10% of the current population still around, I don't think the planet would even be taken back to the stone age. I'm thinking like Germany in WW2 Europe in the worst bombed areas (Dresden, Dusseldorf). Albeit without outside help. The infrastructure is gone, but with the knowledge still...

A question for super science geeks!

But humans tend to form communities. In any gathering of, say, 100 or so people you will have a decent cross-section of knowledge and skills. Not in every case, but in some this will be enough to get things off the ground. Plus the point about re-inventing technologies being easier, since it...

A question for super science geeks!

I agree that the key is going to be how complete the initial destruction was. I guess I just think it will be harder to reduce our knowledge and technological base to near zero. So, first take for example what the human race has achieved in the last 2,000 years in terms of technological...

A question for super science geeks!

But if the destruction was that complete, if each and every community, college, university, engineering firm, research center, etc. was hit by a meteor, you wouldn't have humans left either. Or at most you would have a few that were rapidly dying off since no sunlight would be able to get to...

A question for super science geeks!

Ah, but remember each University (even small ones) will have a library chock full o' books and journals that will contain much of the knowledge we possess and professors and students that will know, at least to some degree, how to apply that knowledge.

A question for super science geeks!

My thoughts would be that any cataclysm that left human survivors would also probably leave enough of our "technical resources" such as scientists, engineers, text books, etc. that many basic technologies would not be irrevocably lost. So smelting, creating polymers and ceramics, heck even...

A question for super science geeks!

Actually, chemically speaking they are unrelated metallic elements from different groups that happen to all be flammable under certain conditions.

    Weapons with an Arabian/Calimshan flavour

Also, I know this is nit-picky, but the Falchion is a single handed sword of European origin. DnD mistakenly describes it as a two-handed scimitar. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falchion

    Tattoo Magic

I vaguely remember reading something about this, but can't remember where. Is this an actual 3.5 thing? Anyone got the skinny?
