Well it adds some flexibility in monster design to use the full array. As someone pointed out in another thread maybe in the MM there are monster who recharge power A on a 1 or 2, power B on a 3 or 4 and power C on a 5 or 6. I can see this happen for chaotic monsters

Sorry I may have been a bit vague but I was actually talking about PC summoners not the Pit fiend which seems fine as is, great thoughts though I'm sure there may be some way to balance this in 4th edition. I would really hate to see summoning go in this edition.

Wow great thinking , maybe you take damage when summoning. From blood loss/spiritual energy/whatever... needed to summon a creature. I could see this as a balancing mechanic, you could heal it but it would cost resources. That way summons can be powerful powers that take a heavy toll on the caster.

I just checked the Solo 4th lvl dragon and it has a +5 on saving throws, not bad to help him get rid of all those status effects, also high lvl elites, like the Chuul and Pit fiend, get a +2 to saving throws. It's nice to see the designers came to the same conclusions. Thanks for the review...
