    DMG pg. 42 DC table

Actually I think the new table without the footnote is fine. I just see "easy", "medium" and "hard" from the POV of an untrained PC. I can live with specialists not needing to roll for medium difficulties. I lowered the DCs in KotS too, just not realy doable if you keep them.

    New stealth stuff from WotC

I like the new rules. The old ones have been a joke. "Oh, I am a 6'4" Dragonborn rogue but I can use my Dwarven buddy or a small bush to hide behind. And my pal the warlock could be everywere but certainly not in that patch of darkness in an otherwise brightly lit room."

    Saves and Ready Actions

If you know that an ally is next in initiative order you could delay until end of that allies turn.

    Order of the Stick 575

Sensing the presence of magic - isn't the mechanic backward?

Think of it this way: the less powerful magic just grabs some magical energy and distorts the natural magical flow and is thus easy to detect. The more powerful effects use the magical flow to it's full effect, riding on it like a surfer on a wave. So they are more subtle and thus harder to...

    Half-elves and +2 CON

Halflings and Tieflings already have Dex+Cha, another race would be overkill.

Sounds great, but I would like see some examples withactual D&D images :)

Feeling short changed by 4th Ed.

4ed less options than 3rd? No way! A few months ago we wanted to do a small mini cmpaign lvl 1-3 PHB only to teach a new player. We were sitting there for hours pouring over the PHB to get halfway decent characters. I.e. I wanted to play a halfling rogue. Yay for me. Miserable in melle because...

    Shouldn't most Rituals be free?

Are you aware that a lvl 24 party should find over 1 million GPs before leveling up? I think in that context 31000 for scry aren't that much anymore.

    Excerpt: Swarms

Hmm, a magic plate mail on a corpse and when the PCs investigate it, a swarm busrts out of it ^^

    D&D 4E Pimp my 4e

I've made the experience in 3e that house-ruling just isn't worth it most of the time, especialy when playing with different groups and DMs. Just let everyone stick to RAW, makes lot of things easier.

The Myth of the Bo9S's Popularity

While I like the concept of the book, it is (like psionics) a tacked-on sub-system and so of no interest to me. But built into 4e right from the start, it will be awesome.

Design & Development: Traps is up!

I don't think it will be forbidden for the rogue to announce that he's searching for traps when he suspects one, meaning he gets a roll or even a take20 if he wants.

What Core Class was actually fun to play

I found clerics and wizards unfun because the high amount of pre-adventuring work. Selecting your spells from dozens of choices on each spell level, memorising the descriptions so you don't have to flip open one or more rulebooks with every spell cast, getting always stocked up on scrolls and...

D&D 4E What changes aren't being made in 4E that you think should be

    1) In 4e, a fighter with mage training will be a fighter who uses some magical tricks when apropriate, i.e. firing magic missiles instead of pulling out a bow, using mage armor when there´s no time to don the full plate,... A swordmage is a fighter who relies heavily on self-buffs to be able to...

Default D&D: Inside Out or Outside In?

I think starting small is the better way. I see 2 problems with highly detailed settings: 1) players (especialy in FR) who know the published setting better than you and always try to correct you :D 2) many players are not that interested in a myriad of details that don't realy affect their...

D&D 4E Preparing for 4e - What campaign will you run?

I'm thinking of using 4e fluff, with inspiration from my favorite settings thrown in. The starting area will be Cardolan from Middle-Earth 1412 third age (Angmar was just defeated, but not much of the northern kingdoms remained), probably with the DMG starter town thrown in somewhere.

AC vs. reflex and what is what

Huh? monks in 3e pretty much have normal AC=touch AC Besides, in 4e there are no "good" and "bad" saves, everyone gets half level on every save.
