1337/l33t/leet, is this strange thing that some computer gamers do. It's the practice of using different letters and numbers in the place of the correct letters. From what I've seen, 'S', becomes z when at the end of the word, and often times 5 is used, since they look similar. 1337= l e e t. the 1 looks like an l, the 3's look like e's, and the 7 looks like a T. If there's anything I've gotten wrong perhaps some of the "1337 h4xx0r2" out there can correct me.

36: Resistance is futile

As the PCs wander about, they encounter some formians. OK, big deal; formians aren't too nasty. And, just like a hive mind, they wander around performing aimless tasks and completely ignoring the PCs. There are some charmed creatures helping them, performing as integrated members of the task at hand.

When the PCs try to interact with the formians, every single one turns to them and says at once, "We are Order. Discard your defences and surrender your posessions. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. You will be assimilated." Then the myrmachs open up with domination effects.

Proceed to treat all formians as the Borg, culminating in a massive extra-planar invasion with mile-high flying fortresses.

Bonus points if you twist the description of the formians so that they have metal or crystal parts or just a sallow look.

Extra bonus points if you twist the abilities of the formians so that they actually infect you with the domination effect, and it brings you and all your experience into the hive mind.

Super extra bonus points if you twist the function of the formians so that they have to stap you with 'assimilator claws' or something to use their domination ability, and generally make them more biological and gross.

You neglected to mention the origin of the word 'leet' in the first place... it's from 'elite', and indicated great skill in combat. I first saw it in Quake 2. 50 u R l4^^4 h4h4h4. Ew, I can't believe I typed that. Annoying isn't it? (Translation: I deduce that your skills are poor compared to mine. I deride you.)

36b: No , it really is futile

Instead of messing around with formians, just throw the Borg in and watch players panic.

Bonus points if you hand out laser rifles from the DMG beforehand. (The borg will, of course, assimilate the attack after 1d6 shots, making the rifles useless.)

Extra bonus points if your PCs don't realise that borg drones can only assimilate energy attacks, and never even draw their bows/swords.

Super extra bonus points if you rule that magic can be assimilated too.

One by one, all the NPC's turn into rhinoceroses. There's no apparent reason. They just think it's a good idea because everyone else is becoming one.

(If you haven't already, check out the brilliant play by Eugene Ionesco titled Rhinoceros. It's an allegory of the spread of extremist ideologies such as Nazism and Communism.)

38) To be really evil, combine two ideas and use the borg, AND make them speak in 'leet (yeah, it's difficult to speak in real life but I'm sure you can manage)

Instead of having them say: All resistance is Futile, say:

A 135510n 1n 1337.

13375p34k was first devised by hackers on various BBS's, in the days of yore. The FBI would, at times, just sit around monitoring various BBS's, searching for leads (this was, of course, before the Freedom of Information Act of 1986). To make sure their info stayed safe, the hackers invented 13375p34k. It stems from the word 'elite' being used to describe the skillfull (one of the few things the movie Hackers got right).

Thus, the phrase: th3 fi135 4r3 in th3 r00t dir3ct0ry
Becomes: th3fi1354r3inth3r00tdir3ct0ry, since spaces were actually Ctrl + ^ commands sent to the BBS.

When the FBI picked these up, they tossed them out as garbage (until they caught on).
