"24" May 16th Episode [spoilers]

Wow - I'm used to time that it takes to do things being speeded up but this time they've really overdone it. President Logan apologizes to a room full of Cabinet members for bringing them in from their homes and offices to the White House fewer than ten minutes after the decision to do that was made. Are they using teleportation devices now?

Hologram emitters?

Ahh, another week, another "24 has shattered my suspension of disbelief and is completely implausable, but that won't stop me from watching next week's episode" thread.

Good episode this week. I enjoyed watching the dirty hippie crying like a little girl. Oh, and as soon as Tony and Michelle proclaimed their undying love for each other and kissed, I thought "Well, Tony's a dead man." ;)

Can't wait for the 2-hour season finale next week!

I had the exact same though, nice explosion anyone?

Yeah, I knew once they were sending Tony out into the field with Jack, he was a goner. =) I've enjoyed the season, but man, can Marwan (sp?) get away one more time please? I know he's crazy intelligent, but he has completely schooled CTU for the entire season.

As per the assassin girl who has Tony, did anyone else do a double-take and think it was the female assassin from Season 1? (the one who blew up the plane and parachuted out? Obviously it can't be since she's dead, but all these girls with guns are starting to blur together in my brain.)

Actually, that is her. And let's not forget, she's also the one that poisoned the President at the very end of Season 2. She's never been killed in any of her previous appearances, so I'm not sure why you thought she was dead...

I am pretty sure it is the same girl from Season 1. She never died, she was also the same girl who poisoned President Palmer at the end of Season 2.

Tony is so the goner. TV cliche #43 - Never proclaim your love for someone, then go on a dangerous mission. Nothing says I'm going to die like that.

As someone who used to live in LA, specifically really close to Panorama City, hearing a chopper in the middle of the night is nothing new. You can count on hearing at least one or two every evening. So, the assassin girl shouldn't have naturaly assumed they found them just from hearing ine helicopter.

Looking forward to the finale next week!

I liked everything but the last 10 minutes. It was completely stupid and reeked of pushing the plot.

I've watched this show for 4 years and I know its CTU protocal to get the bad guy reguardless of the consequences. it was not like she took a baby or a little girl hostage "and even if she did" she took one of you guys, this guy knows he could die and Tony IS smart enough to know she's going to kill him. It really irked me in an already highly implausible season. I hope they go back ...at least one season... of doing the whole show in a 24 hour period.

I thought that looked like her. And for that matter, I'm pretty sure that it was the same actress who played the woman that Kim babysat for. The one that was killed and stuffed in a trunk? I thought the face was the same, but that she was wearing a blonde wig.

So is it an actress that they like, and keep re-using, for different characters? Or (aside from the one that was killed) is it the same character, and part of a longterm plotline?

On a side note....the missile was launched last episode.....and it's now been 60 minutes, and it still hasn't reached anywhere? How slowly do they fly? And why can't they track it? Wouldn't satellites just pick it up? If I can see the roof of my house on Google, and CTU can pick up the heat images of terrorist's bodies in a building throguh the roof, I don't see why they couldn't pick up a missile..

As to the chopper....I suppose that if she was running or participating in a big operation, and concerned about getting found, then maybe she'd pay more attention to a chopper at such a critical time, even if having them go by was relatively common?

According to IMDb, she's only ever appeared on 24 as the one character (credited as 'Mandy', though I prefer Assassin Girl). I really hope they don't kill her off next week. I like the idea of her popping up from time to time, doing whatever dirty work needs done and then disappearing again.

I believe they said it was moving at about 600mph and had enough range from where it was launched to hit anywhere in the country, with the coasts being about three hours away (which was also, coincidentally, the amount of time left in the season...). And they did say it was a "stealth" missile... :\
