250 daggers with a Telekinesis spell?

It seems that if a wizard can prepare wall full of daggers in his room, he can throw a lot of them against any intruders. Say, a 10th-level wizard have +6 Int bonus (20 +2 from item) cast a telekinesis. He can throw 250 daggers at +11 attack bonus. Assume an enemy fighter have AC of 25, about 30% of them will hit, thus causing 75 d4 =187.5 damage in average. Ouch! Am I missing something?

Wow

There's a spell in Ritual&Relics that summons the daggers (otherwise you have to carry A LOT).

About the spell: As far as the SRD goes, I think it's yes. After all, it's a 5th level spell against one target... (What's so good about AC25?)

Well, if the old message boards are now accessible you could have a look over there for approximately 500 posts arguing the ins and outs of this question.

Personally I think the "violent thrust" part of the spell and also the instructions about max damage according to spell level gives a good baseline for assessing the damage which can be inflicted with it.

I have a hard time imagining a spellcaster telekinetically lifting all those individual daggers and throwing them at the same time.

And it will be VERY complicated to stick all those daggers into someone. Find a place where no dagger is stuck yet... uhuhuh

I would make it an area attack of d4/level with a reflex save. Maybe even d6/level. No spell resistance allowed, though. What you're basically doing is creating a complicated "bladeball" out of a telekinesis spell. You no more apply each dagger to a single target than you would figure out how much damage 250 torches would do to somebody if you pelted an area in fire.

You obviously aren't a fan of comic books or anime.

I would allow the wizard to do that, but I wouldn't allow d4 per dagger because he doesn't have enough control to make them all strike point first. More like d2 per dagger.

This combo really isn't very powerful. You can't really do it unless you have prepared it ahead of time, and there are other traps that would be just as if not more effective.

Spikey, do you not support the spell in its official form? The spell specifically states that weapons hurled by the spell deal normal damage but lose the strength bonus. How did you compensate for reducing the spells power? Did you level it down or increase the range/weight?
