4e Heroic Souls (FULL/CLOSED - accepting alts)

Graf, if you want to get some more players in here you should remove the soft close portion of the title and let the good people know what they're missing. ;)

I find this very interesting and I'd like to play. Here's an initial character idea, tell me if you like it or if i can improve it.

Name: Heian
Color: i'd like dark redif possible.
Race: Half-elf
Attributes:I assume five 10 and one 8 with 22 points:
Str 17
Dex 14
Con 12 (+2 half-elf)
Int 8
Wis 14
Cha 12 (+2 half-elf)

Background: Heian is a barely 6-foot-tall man with long brown hair and green eyes. He's a 20 years old half-elf in a village of humans. Actually, he doesn't even know what a half-elf is, or an elf, really. He just knows he's always been different from the other kids. He has always had a sort of empathic feeling that everyone else in the village seemed to lack. Once as a child he asked his mother why he didn't have a father while all the other children did, and he got slapped in the face (this would be one of the exceedingly rare occasions in which a villager wins over the daze), so he never asked again. Heian is a hunter, and he knows very well the surroundings of the village. His neighborough, a weird, gruff man taught him a little of the art of bowmanship and swordsmanship (i figure him as a man not very influenced by the daze, who could have had theheroic soul but in the end surrendered to the daze). He's taciturn, but more often than not his soul is a storm of thought and unexpressed feelings, that for reasons he feels are wrong he cannot spit out. The strongest source of this turmoil are the eyes of NeeLoo, a girl living in the village. He feels she's different. He knows she fells the same about him too. They've exchanged a few words, as normal in a small settlement, but no more. But the looks they exchange seem something almost alien in the everyday life of the village.

Heian is, obviously, good at hunting, tracking, hiding, stuff like that.

Relationships: See NeeLoo

Hooks: Heian's father (supposedly an elf. Heian doesn't know anything about him or elves, though); maybe the man who taught him to hunt, Farlarn; NeeLoo.

As you see, this character is thought to interact with NeeLoo, Sarah's character. Tell me if something is not consistent with the setting; if there's a problem with the class I can change that too. What do you think?

Name: Neeloo
Color: indigo?

Race: Human
Intended Class: Fey Pact Warlock
Attributes Divvy up 15, 9, 13, 13, 10, 12
Strength 10
Constitution 13
Dexterity 12
Inteligence 13
Wisdom 9
Charisma 17 (+2)

HP: 13

Appearance: NeeLoo is a young slim 16 years old girl, standing about 5'4" tall. Her hair are unaturally white and messy, usualy kept fairly short. Her eyes are blue and very pale.

Background
Neeloo is, simply put, a weird girl. She spends her days around her house and walking around town aimlessly. She is spacing out most of the time, as if she was listening to someone talking to her, even though she is alone. It is not usual for her to talk back to these voices. NeeLoo is raised by her mother alone, as her father died many years ago. When she was a kid, she explored the "ghost castle" on a dare from other kids. Maybe she was very brave, maybe she simply got lost, but she disapeared for many hours. Whatever happened, she can't remember and she was different when she came out. Maybe it was just the daze "kicking in", but she stopped communicating with others and only talked with her imagination.

Relationship
One of the only person in the village who can keep NeeLoo's attention (if at least a few minutes) is a young half-elf named Heian. Even though she cannot understand those feelings, NeeLoo cant help herself but stare into Heian eyes, smiling.

Skills: Neeloo likes to "write" in the sand with a stick. These writtings are nothing more than random drawings and griberish. When asked about it, she says these are stories she's been told about, but never tells who told those stories.

Hooks Quick: NeeLoo probably met the green eye. She can't remember any of it, but it opened her mind to a different level. Maybe her imaginary people are only that; imaginary people, but maybe they are actually real...

Childhood experiences: see castle dare.

Atan,
SR,

Your concepts look good. I'd come back to you in more detail in 24 hours or so.

Just breifly: Heian will almost certainly be biologically related to Eldans clan.
To my thinking its more likely that Neeloo 'slipped' through the boundary and out into the woods.
She remembers being brought back to (found by Heian in) the bramble by Big Green Eyes.
Just a suggestion.

Glad to have you onboard.

Hi graf, thank you! I have read th whole ic thread now so I have a better idea of what is happening. I don't know if it conflicts with your backstory idea, but the idea i had about heian's father is a wandering elf that 20 years ago entered the village (people with heroic soul can pass the boundary right?)had a brief liason with a woman there and then, soon horrified by the daze, hastily abandoned the place. I don't know if it could work in your "eternal circle" mechanic. Could it be that external meddlings influenced the "fate" and made change actually possible (and one of these would be heian being an hero's son in this incarnation)?

Anyway, about class; it's not clear to me what classes the other players are. Warlord and wizard? My initial idea for Heian was a ranger, but then I thought about it and i believe a paladin would work very well too; let me know what do you think the party would need more; i have both stat blocks ready.

If you're interested in my opinion, Atanatotatos, I would suggest the paladin. I believe we've lost our wizard, so the two characters still around are a warlord and a rogue. If you go ranger, and Sarah goes warlock, we'll have a leader and three strikers. That just sounds like a painful experience. ;)

I see what you mean redclaw. Well, i'll post a provvisory stat block, let me know what you all think about it.

Any reason you went with Furious Smash as an encounter power? It's nice, but I'll likely have it as an at-will, and there are much better encounter powers for Paladins. Fearsome Smite and Shielding Smite seem like really good fits for your build. Both use Cha to attack and damage.

I chose furious smash for the hal-elf's dilettante power because i have a +4 cha modifier, so it's significant even though it's 1/encounter. Any suggestion for alternatives?
On the other hand, i chose piercing smite to take advantage of holy strike and enfeebling strike at-will that target marked enemies. 'm not sure if it's worth it, but I will retrain if it doesn't work.
