Fair enough. I made my pitch. Urgan will go to the caves.Bluff. Then split. More parties = more statues. And probably less focused response too

That's absolutely fine. I was envisioning her as being a temptress and Aywin's mistress. He is trying to redeem her soul, put maybe her soul cannot be redeemed!@Steve Gorak. I hope you don't object, but I'm giving Svetlana a "sarcastic teenager" personality. I think that Fiends ought to always be somewhat unpleasant, even (especially?) when they're on "your side". She's bound to your service, but don't expect her to be happy about it!
The jump spell gives you no special ability relating to falls, but I would be inclined to say that anything under 20 feet would be fine. I tend to have that first d6 (10 feet) be something that you can avoid with easy checks, if you do it on purpose (IE jump down), so I can see the jump spell working without a check for that, but it doesn't make landing any (or much) softer than it usually is (it's not feather fall or levitate, or that sort of thing) so it wouldn't, IMO, allow you to jump 30 feet DOWN. 10 feet? No problem. 11-19? Increasingly jarring, but doable. 20 feet and above? Fall as normal.Hey @FitzTheRuke
If Aywin casts the jump spell, can he simply jump safely down the 15ft instead of climbing down? Not sure if jump is for up only, and not sure if an athletics or acrobatics check is necessary. I've never used the spell. I'm tempted to think that since it's a level 1 spell, up or down should be fine without check, but wanted to check with you.
Thx!

I believe that forward is the main idea - the designers give less thought to three dimensions than they do to movement on a grid. But yes, they did not limit its movement upward, so that is where it is at its most powerful.Fair enough; thanks. So it's a mostly upwards benefit, which is fine. I'm also assuming that horizontal movement (i.e. jump forward) should also be fine without a check, right?
Thx,
SG
I think the general consensus is we are going to the tower and then splitting up after?Team Ambush
Corrah asked, "So no one wants to make the climb? Fair enough! I'll go as far as the Watchtower with you then, and then I'll go report to Imani."
The wagon set off again, with an entirely new crew, while the bodies of its old crew lay in some underbrush between two levels of the switchback, not visible from the road from either side.
OOC: I gather that this is what you generally collectively want. Ready to move forward?
Hey, thanks for the answers! And I just realized that I posted my questions ic, sorry about that. I corrected my posts. i need a phone with a bigger display!I believe that forward is the main idea - the designers give less thought to three dimensions than they do to movement on a grid. Edit: Oh! And @Steve Gorak, check the spots where I posted these (originally) again - there's new IC information.
No, you had no Long Rest. Any new Spell Slots you gain from leveling show up "unused", though.Fitz:
in my one-liner above I presumed that we recovered spent spell slots when we leveled, but I don't know if that's right. So
- when we level up (with only a short rest), do we regain spell slots, or only those cast?
You had a Short Rest, so you can use Arcane Recovery, yes. You used Mage Armor, and did Silent Image (that was the barricade, right?) not cost you a spell slot?
- If we don't get them back, can we say that Urgan used his Arcane Recovery? That would put him at full slots, no AR, and just over 5-6 hours left on the armor (cast just before the switchback combat
Sorry, I'm not following you - casts what? Fog cloud?
- If we do get them back, then he is just down one level 1 slot for AR, which he casts just before getting to the bridge.
Yeah, I don't mind you switching Web for Fog Cloud. We can chalk it up to a character-sheet administration error on your part. Urgan picked the Cloud.I also asked above if it was too late to sub in Fog cloud for Web as one of the spells I learned. Not efficient, I know, but perhaps more useful for this context (as Urgan would have known before the rest).
