(5.24 PBP) Vault Redux (OOC) Fitz's Refresher

I have no need to kill kobolds. If they will walk us through, we can be cautious (Urgan STUDYING all the time!) and no one has to be wounded. I am fine with that, and we can give them some gold at the end. (10gp? enough that it's meaningful for a ten-minute job). Offline for the next few hours, though, so go for it!

Based on what they said, and my reading of it, there might be a schism that we can use. That they might think of us as betrayers indicates that they may have already been betrayed.

Anyway, I fully support kobold kindness. Unless they get in our way.

That was my thinking.

With what the Orc said about the "fake" dragon to keep everyone in line, and with the Green dragon being venerable, I wonder if the old guy just bit the bullet of old age. And now they're making up a dracolich story for now until they figure out how to use the staff and rezz him for real.

And the kobolds blame the death on the cultists.

Do both? You can sabotage the stores!
@Neurotic can you charm one?

No, I can't.

We wait until they bring us all the way to the store. There might be more guards, but we will be deeper in their stronghold and potential alarm. Then we each surprise our own companions or gang up to whoever is closest.

Also, once the gate was visible, Saphirrion hid among the barrels and under the tarp, I was hoping it was maybe an open fort so he could fly over, but we would have time once we saw the gates to organize.

Is that OK?

Can the kobolds be followed from behind the group or it is too precise movement to avoid traps so I have to be close with them?
Only if you want to make three skill checks - Stealth to stay hidden, Perception to spot hazards, and Survival to follow their movements. All "only" dc12. And then you will need to stop following when you reach the village, or you will certainly be seen by villagers (as opposed to going all the way to the Chief's hut). But there IS potentially stuff to be learned from all that, so it's not totally foolish.

Up to you. Consequences of failure might be pretty severe, though. We'd have to see.
