D&D 5E 5E Survivor - Subclasses (Part XIII: Warlock)

Yeah City Domain Cleric and Technomancer Wizard, of the three the Ghost in the Machine was an okay superhero build though Im not sure building it on a dnd chasis is a good fit.
It’s a much better D&D warlock than a superhero, unsurprisingly.

I’m not even sure what is remotely superhero-esque about it.

Mind you, i think lots of people play single-class straight through these days. Everyone in my current campaign certainly is, even though multiclassing is allowed. Losing access to higher-level features is a steep price to pay for multiclassing in most circumstances. Exploiting the Hexblade is one of the exceptions, from an optimisation point of view.
From what I have seen personally, I would agree with you. In most of the games my groups play multiclassing is always allowed but not utilised much. It is used a bit more in one-offs rather than campaigns where people have been more experimental with character builds, but most campaign characters have been single classed. But all of our campaigns have allowed multiclassing.

From what I have seen online it seems most people allow it, and those that don't seem like an exception. The same with feats, which is why WotC seems to be making feats the default in 1D&D and if you don't want them you have to limit people to only take the ASI feat.
So I am curious if there is any evidence that it is only about 50% of groups that use MCing rules.
