Well, other than you lose all your books since you can’t access them unless you access the central server.

But you do keep your minis. That’s true.

Only if needing to reinstall or switch computers, everything is stored locally, Doug has publicly stated that in the "extremely unlikely" event of Smiteworks closing he will ensure that the program does not become crippled.

If the player loves the franchise will spend money to finance future titles, even when he could download pirate versions. Or merchadising products will be bought to give as gifts to friends or other members of the family.

Sigil can't be only a VTT with beatiful FXs and animations.

Maybe the VTT should show a "playtest" of "Gamma World", as if it was a future miniature skimirshes board game.

Collabs or crossovers may be a good card, but we shouldn't bet everything to only that card.

I suggest to offer something could be played in solo mode, for example an interactive adventure.

This looks pretty snazzy, but man, the last thing I want is (vaguely) realistic 3D environments with no grid and then...all the 3D characters and monsters on minis stands? Go one way or the other.

Strong disagree....the stands indicate where they are much better than legs or whatever.

I mean, I can see where they are? And if there's no grid displayed then the bases just look nonsensical to me. But one's mileage may vary.

Things that are long and skinny take up a circle/squares....which IME with other 3d VTT is hard to see if you don't have bases, but as you say, we don't need to agree! I'm ok with that.

The bases / pucks really help for figuring out distances, and size. Plus I heard that you can turn on a grid even if it's not needed.

Honest question, have you ever used a VTT with official support like Foundry or Roll20?.

I've given my experience elsewhere in this thread. My mainn point is for those people wondering how much this is going to cost. They've already told you how much it's going to cost by comparing it to existing video game franchises.

After thinking about it a bit, I'm not seeing WotC execs refer this to a VTT, it's called "Project Sigil, a 3D sandbox" It's the market that's calling it a VTT. They don't want to you associate VTT price structures with this, they want you to think it's a fundamentally different experience.

Apologies I haven’t see any experience of VTT and I believe I read all your posts.

I’ve played Minecraft for a long long time - many years. I haven’t spent a penny on it since I started playing it a decade or so ago. I didn’t even know you could spend money on it. So if that’s one of your examples that’s leading us to think it will be expensive I’m not following.

Maybe you will be able to solo it like a video game. I wouldn’t be expecting the next iteration of Baldurs Gate though.
