Angel 02/18 (spoilers probably)

Despite my fear of the puppet debacle, it was a very fun episode. I laughed most of the way through it, and that's always fun to do. My highlights:

-Angel-Puppet vamping out.
-Nina.
-Fred coming to her senses.
-Gunn's deal with the devil (or the doctor, in this case.)
-Nina.
-The talks about missed signals.
-The Devil-puppets.
-Nina.
-Fred shooting the honking puppet with the big-ass gun and not even breaking chanting!
-The dramatic scene with Angel-puppet walking with the sword across his back.
-Lorne shouting for a "Gepetto in the house."
-Did I mention Nina? (Definitely got to learn the actress' name!)

As for next week:

Is Joss REALLY going to do this to Wesley? Rat-bastard! Love the idea, sorry to see Fred go.

Came to the episode expecting lame... came away very happy.

while there were many many good lines as others have mentioned before, when the werewolf claw interrupted angel's "i seem distracted..." and he started shouting "bad nina, bad bad nina" I spewed beverage.

The puppet vamp out was great.

Yes! to everything listed by swrushing and Henry!

I loved the whole episode! It was nice to see continuity with Nina. It was nice to see Wesley reprimanding Angel about Nina. I loved Spike's reaction! "You're a sodding puppet!"

It was all great!

I really liked the episode. It was good fun TV.

I agree with all of Henry's highlight and will add one as well:

Nina (guest star Jenny Mollen)

Definitely a solid episode: lots of humor, some introspection, a scantily clad werewolf, a bit of story arc development.

I wish all episodes were this good.

One scene I forgot to mention but was touched upon early in this thread. The puppet Angel - Spike fight scene. I loved it when the elevator doors open up and Spike is laying in the corner with a bloody lip.

One has to give credit to Angel for making Puppets creapy and funny at the same time. I thought it was going to be a lame show but it turned out to be one of the better ones.

Just wanted to post my thoughts on why the gang didn't react badly to Cordy's death.

For one thing, Angel might not have told them Cordy is dead. That's an unlikely answer though.

Another reason they might not have freaked out is because Cordy has been in a coma for quite a while now - I would guess about a year. I don't think any of them really expected Cordy to wake up. They've had time to deal with her loss.

A third is that they also know she is a higher power. They know she's in a better place, they know her spirit carried on, and I think that would leave them more at peace with her death.

All good points...but shouldn't something have been shown on-camera? Even if it is just a few moments in an episode?

I think the fact that she was there without actually waking up and being there and then gone said enough. She came to say her goodbyes to everyone and help Angel out one more time. They probably dealt with it while they were out drinking that night.
