Angel 3/19 (Spoilers)

dravot

First Post
SPOILERS (But then again the thread title says that)

I haven't seen the show yet, but the TV Guide blurb for tonight's episode gives away a surprising amount of information.

Faith's blood is indeed spiked, but it's not Wes who does it.

It would seem I was wrong on this one. That kind of retro-action is rare in Joss-land, but it does happen from time to time.

Come to think of it, they did hint at it when Wes and Faith were in the back room of the demon bar. :p

A good show. I was surprised at Willow just showing up like that and then having Fred saying she called her (how do they know each other? Fred mentionned something about school IIRC?).

The Angel-Angelus fight and speech sequence was unexpected, but pretty good I thought.

And Conner just keeps getting more and more annoying... when are they gonna kill him? (though it *was* good to him get whacked by Faith).

It was a cheesy way to get the glass jar broken; distract Cordy and oops, she slips and it breaks? I was expecting a bit more than that...

Good stuff, altho I am REALLY on the fence about Connor. He plays such a key role in the series as Angel's son but he is such a brat. I don't know if it's the actor or the writing, but he really annoys me. That's not to say I don't like the character. I wish he had more of Angel in him and for that matter, Darla. They were both so strong in body and will. He seems so easily lead around and generally lacking in intellect. He was raised/trained by a fairly smart man and he has been out of touch with humanity all his life until now, but there should at least be some signs of growth by now...

That went on way longer than I intended. On to the good! :D

Willow's part in the ep was fantastic all around. Her comments about how much Wes has changes as well as her "androgenous" comments about Connor were great. It was quite interesting to really see how much all these characters have changed in 4 years. We all knew how much but the contrast was interesting.

Being that this was a transition episode and the last we will see of Angelus in a while (I guess) it was good. I know it would have had more impact had I not known about Willow weeks ahead of time. The Dark Cordy stuff is still interesting now that she is running out of people to manipulate and should ramp up significantly now that Angel is back in the picture.

This should also make things interesting (and crowded!!) on Buffy with all that is going on over there.

I have to say that my favorite non-Willow scene of the episode was Faith hammering Connor. He had it coming and deserved it. Fred had an interesting role in this one as it seems she may have a little thing for Willow (can you blame her?). Good stuff all around. I can't wait to see how this all wraps up. :)

Anyone else a bit peeved that they cut the last 15 minutes to essentially say "well, nothing's happenning on the war front, but we'll stick around just in case."
Not looking for political commentary here, just venting that they could have finished the episode - since nothing happened (and even if it had, what 30 other stations had the exact same coverage).

Doh. Not in my area. The local station had Angel on the entire time. Sorry, man. I'd look for a rerun this weekend by the same station. They sometimes do that in situations like this...

I hear ya. I just look forward to the day, someday, that we can download our shows to our TiVos and watch them without any kind of crap from interfering.

Yep we got the interruption here as well. Did Cody get revealed in the end? I loved seeing Connor get his whiny ass whooped by Faith.

So anyone want to enlighten (read:spoil) me on how exactly the conclusion went down. I figure Connor getting ripped apart by angelus (or angel) and beaten to death with his own arm is just too much to hope for. :D

Neither Cordy or Cody got revealed. Well, she did show up in this black, show-off-my-pregnant-belly thing and told the crew something to the effect of: The worst isn't over yet. END CREDITS

;)

Loved the episode. LOVED the episode. I don't think I've ever yelled at my TV that much in a sigle hour. From the exultation of seeing Faith and Willow kicking butt for goodness sake, to yelling at Conner for being a dolt.

I luckily was not interrupted by news broadcasts, but I did get 5 phone calls. No one calls me all week, except when Angel is on. Why????? So, as a result I missed a few details. Anyone mind clarifying?

What's the androgeny comment?

What happened to Angel in Chicago, circa the 20s that he had to relive?
