D&D 5E (2014) Anyone else think the Bard concept is just silly?

I hate Bards. The only bards I like are the ones that play music in taverns :)
Every time I think of a dude dancing and spouting poetry to " inspire " me while I am being attacked by trolls I just cringe.
If that happened in real life I would stop attacking the trolls immediately and bet the crap outta the singing useless weirdo..
The whole concept is just too silly to even visualize.
Even one that is fighting is silly. Some fighting, singing weirdo. I think players should have to write down what the dude is singing so we can all have an example of how it is " Inspiring". LOLOL
We don't think bards are stupid in concept; we know they are stupid in concept.
They're even worse in practice.

I hate how ubiquitous the memes about Bards have become. How they've basically redefined the bard as "narcissist pansexual Deadpool-wannabees". Like, if you play at any table, the Bard is the "break the fourth wall" character who constantly makes jokes about seducing literally everyone.

I think resurrecting 9 year old threads is silly.

I think resurrecting 9 year old threads is silly.
I liked someone's post. Then, I realized the thread was from 2017 and was like, "Really? Necroing a thread from 2017?" However, I remembered that sometimes the forums refer to similar threads that are long dead. So, maybe that happened and the poster didn't realize that date of the thread. It is happened to me on one or two occasions.

Barbarians are silly. Nothing sillier than fighting in a loincloth while arguing that you can’t be hurt because you are so ANGRY.

Clerics are silly. You’re telling me that your god, when choosing to grant divine favour, skipped over the person with the great force of personality, the magnetic charm, the honeyed voice that can sway masses, for the guy with great PERIPHERAL VISION. Oh, and if the cleric were really wise, they sure as hell wouldn’t spend their time adventuring.

Druids are silly. Despite having the vast powers of nature at their fingertips, their go-to class feature is cosplaying fauna. Poorly. A single bad Stealth roll and the entire dungeon is trying to exterminate that « suspicious » mouse.

Fighters are silly. Who knew that being able to catch your breath made it easier to succeed at ability checks?

Monks are silly. See Barbarian, though Monks are worse because they have the same schtick with lower strength.

Paladins are silly. Especially Oath of Glory.

Rangers are silly. Like fighters, if fighters needed to really concentrate to kill you effectively.

Rogues are silly. They can sneak attack gelatinous cubes.

Sorcerers are silly. They get their power through their bloodline. What about wild mages? What about spellweave sorcerers? What about shadow sorcerers? At this point, something like half of sorcerers seem to get their power through an impersonal abstract force.

Warlocks are silly. Why would anyone strike a deal with an eldritch entity when they could get the same power without strings attached just by going to bard school? Or jumping into a wild magic area?

Wizards are silly. They claim they’re intelligent. They also claim magic is, like, so hard, guys, and that’s why they don’t have time to learn how to wield weapons or armor. Meanwhile, the Int 10 bard somehow learned almost the same amount of magic, and also mastered three different musical instruments, a variety of weapons, two additional skills, and light armor. Are we sure wizards weren’t in the remedial class?

You had me until "Rogues are silly."

For that you shall pay.

Watch your back.
