Are you looking forward to Magic of Incarnum?

Sorry, I have too many other books to buy and not enough interest in tacking on yet-another-magic-system. (I already have arcane, divine, psionic and artifice to worry about).

Like WoL, neat idea, but too far down on my list. Rather get Magic of Eberron or Heroes of Horror.

Well, the preview almost ruined it for me because of the mechanices which do not appeal to me, but I am still looking forward to it because of the impression of the flavor I get. The preview showed us more feats for increasing the power of undead turning, sneak attacks, mind blades, etc. Those do not inspire me at all, although the sound of the essentia is very interesting. I like the imagery invoked in my mind when I read about it.

They might have been in earlier editions, but in 3e they're just as ensouled as everyone else. There's nothing stopping anyone from raising an elf anymore.
Oh for the love of ---, they water down the elves to human standards. AGAIN!!!

It Sounds like a saturday morning cartoon's magic system, perfect for wotc's player catering D&D. Likening it to Star whore's Farce seems about right.

Of course i am one of those All Magic originates from Yog-Sothoth types so i might be biased

Magic of Incarnum has been delayed by a week. The street date for it is now Sept 16, along with the Axis & Allies Miniatures Game.

Thanks for the update :) On the bright side, it will give me more time to scratch up the cash. I'm still planning to write a review of the book once I've read it.

I've looked over the new preview, it seems interesting with the Totemist and Soulmelds but I'm still waiting on this one. I'm guessing that the point of the whole Incarnum system is to have 'monster-based' abilities, with Totemists being based on Magical Beasts, and somehow I bet that Incarnates will be based on Outsiders...

Anyways don't know if I'll get it yet since I'm low on money at the moment.

Eh. It sounds interesting. But, if it's not in the SRD, I don't see it getting used much. :(

That and the latest preview isn't as impressive as I'd hoped. I was waiting to see some actual Incarnum "spells" but there's not much of it there. A few regular spells with incarnum effects, but that's not the same.

I think psionics failed to add a new aspect to the game. I'll wait to here specific things about the book once its out and people read it. THere are very few books written by anyone these days that create early buzz.

I am with you on this one. I have enough different magic systems that I really do not need another. I have already incorporated AE magic and psionics, so I really need nothing more.

Based on the excerpt I've read I like the idea of "essence of incarna" being used like a magical feat, a bound item, or force behind a spell (spell-like thing). i.e. I like the concept of the class bounding the power of magic to fit their classes needs.

That's its.

I don't like the mechanic presented, I don't like the "superheroes" feel it seems to create, and I certainly don't like the WoW stiled artwork; big weapons, big shoulderpads...

Dude, I'm just getting too old....
