Downloading now - it's claiming only a 100GB download, which is an improvement! (122GB disk space). Steam seems stable, touch wood.

Same on my end, I'm rather surprised they compressed the download to 97 GB. It looks like it'll be ready to play in 2,5-3 hours. I also have a major deadline for tonight, so I probably won't be able to play the game for 5-6 hours.

Unless the compulsion gets the better of me, that is...

There is a lot of adaptability in the game. You'll have options on how to fill roles. However, as the pre-built come with added storyline, I'd recommend using them over your various runthroughs.
