Guess we've been in the hobby around the same amount of time? I've been 2E - 3E - 3.5E - 4E - 5E - 5.5E.

Started on 93 with B/X 2E 95.

Yeah, they were basically mothballing evergreening the franchise until all the things that Absolutely Had Nothing to Do With 5e's Success has a thing to do with 5e's success.

I'm basically a lifer and indifferent to 5.5 success rate or failure. If I like it i'll play it regardless if I don't I'll 4E it.

Everyone else can do whatever they like shrugs.

The issue is when people use their love of 5e to justify this fervent defense of WotC against fair and earned criticism.
