Campaigns you hope to run someday before you die

My Homebrew system (been working on it for years), in:

a) Homebrew fantasy setting (similar to a cross between Eberron & Warhammer FRP)

b) Homebrew sci-fi setting (akin to Transhuman Space, 300 years later – No Aliens! Kinda Firefly meets Cowboy Bebop, but gritty)

c) Homebrew post-modern occult (drawing from any system out there, having the players know that, but not exactly what...CoC, Alternate Armies, Kult, Whispering Vault, etc)

-Lands of Carthalis-My homebrew setting that has gone through three revisions so far. It is a heavily modified low-magic d20 setting that uses a weakened version of the revised Elements of Magic system. Writing on books, school, and that darn work keep getting in the way.

-Agone - It is a french roleplaying game based on some novel series I've never read before. The book is one of the most beautiful roleplaying books I've ever seen.

-Exalted - I ran it once for a short few adventures, but I got away from it. I'm hoping to get back to it again, albiet using just the setting material and the tri-stat system.

1. A game with players that consistently show up and play over a period of years. Players with imagination. Players who don't irritate me or other players.

2. D&D using the system from godlike. Shadowrun using the system from godlike. Damn I like the godlike system - shame I find it so hard to think up WWII plots.

I would love to run a game set in Not-Italy during the Not-Renaissance (in other words, file off the names), but have the combat based on fencing, etc., manuals of the era and the magic thought to be possible (by reading period grimoires). Small city states being used as a proxy battlefield for the Great Powers, lots of secret societies, funky combined-weapons, lots of old tomes, summoning up demons and the dead, etc. That would be wild.

Yes, that would be very, very cool

The Complete Masks of Nyarlathotep and Beyond the Mountains of Madness either for BRP or d20 Cthulhu.

I've wanted to run BRP Mountains of Madness ever since I read the book -- I mean, it's estimated to take a full year of regular sessions, and players are recommended to create a "stable" of investigators with ready hooks to be brought in when their PCs die. And it's based on one of my favorite HPL stories. How can I not want to run it? ;)

That, and when it was done I could affix the "I survived" Antarctic expedition patch from the screen/Keeper's kit to my bag with pride.

If I can get ahold of it without sawing off any limbs, I'd love to run BRP Horror on the Orient Express as well. Both in the same lifetime -- that would be cool. :)

- Some kind of fantasy/western using Arcana Unearthed (because that will be my DnD of choice for a long time). Maybe take the Diamond Throne sprinkled with elements from Eberron. Vast uncharted lands, lightning rail bandits, spellslingers, runic firearms... that all sounds really cool to me.

- This maybe doesn't count, but I'd like to develop my homebrew by running more games in it. Right now it's a hodgepodge as I develop it and run my first group of PCs through it. Hodgepodge in itself isn't so bad; I even have a unifying theme in the ideas of sound and music, but I'd like to solidify those themes a little more.

- a sci-fi RPG, though I'm not sure what I'd like to try. Probably any of them, though Star Wars, Dragonstar, and d20 Future are right at the top.

That and a time travel game based on Chrono Trigger.

Hmm, death.

... A Dragonlance game, based on the novels, with individuals who know little about it. I love the premise, but have not had the time to alter the events enough to change it for those familiar with it.

This has been my very ambition for 20 years as well, and I am only now finally doing so.

I have had to alter events and personas very seriously and in fact right now it doesn't even resemble the classic DL campaign, but I'll get there yet... I think.

The nice part is - this truly has been frustrating the hell out of me for 20 years now - so the "I always wanted to" premise of the thread is very appropos.

I got to tell you the "I always wanted to run and now finally doing it" part is really sweet. I've been pounding away on campaign material and home brew mods and maps and pdfs for this thing for quite a while now and its an **amazing** creative burst.

Ever had those DM moments when you are just electrified with the whole thing and can't stop planning and writing? It's like the clock has turned back 25 years and I am in grade 11 again.

It's pretty cool :)

Some day! When I have retired and have copious free time to work on it...

I will run my diceless Time Travel Call of Cthulhu campaign that's a twisted combination of Groundhog Day and Twelve Monkeys.

I have the whole thing planned out, beginning, middle, ending, themes, characters, the works. But it would still require a _ton_ of prep to actually run!
That is outstanding!

Damn the taxes! I'm moving to Massachussettes!! :D
