If Marvel's CGI budget is getting stretched to the breaking point with stuff like Quantumania

I don't think Marvel's budget has been the limiting factor there, but simply the incredibly crunched time that they allow their digital artists to try to keep the FX up to date with late script changes etc.

Sadly, you can't take an actor's statements like this one at face value. Henry Cavill once said there would be a sequel to Man From U.N.C.L.E., but there was never any chance of that happening -- even before Armie Hammer became persona non grata. (Too bad, because that movie was a blast).

Regardless of what Chris Pine says, a sequel won't be happening unless the first movie does remarkably well on streaming/home video. That said, maybe it will! Maybe it already is! That would be nice.

I’d love a sequel that involved visiting other planes. Kind of like Marvel Multiverse, but better and more outrageous.

I'd happily leave the multiverse stuff aside, but introducing more characters who could carry their own titles and building towards a D&DCU would be a good direction.

Oof no, not yet. You need to have at least one financially successful movie before you even THINK about cinematic universes.

Focus on making a good movie. Forget about sequels for the moment.

That is because Karl Urban (Bones) is doing The Boys and doesn't have time to do Star Trek. If it takes too long Paramount could decide to replace him with another actor.

They could have hired more teams to share the work. At some point, budget is the limiting factor.

It has been doing extraordinary on streaming, spending over 16 weeks in the US top ten. The only month it struggled was October. It popped back into the Paramount+ top ten in the world last week.
