I have never felt better about my preorder than I did when I read this.

Mental note to self. Actively avoid DC 20. In a year ir two no one will care anyway let's face it.

This is pretty much where I’m at: Avoid DC20. Buy and play D&D2024

Speaking of which. Bio break is over. Back to having brainwashed, mind-warping fun…

I mean, I backed DC20, but it looks a bit trashy to me. After I took a closer look, it goes down a design path that I kinda hate.

I am not enthused about 5.5 either but I’d pick it over DC20.

We can dwell into perception from other angles, like how game developers largely avoid nerfs because buffs are better received. Why video games like X-com "fudge" the math, because player perception of random isn't random. Or how players react to different ways of increasing difficulty.
I gotta admit that it STILL pisses me off to no end when my 99% shot sniper misses repeatedly. :D

If I know anything about D&D players, they are intelligent, free thinkers and don't like to be told what to do. I don't know if you'll get the response you want.
So much truth here.

You want to run a low magic, low fantasy campaign? Tell your players you want everyone to be a high fantasy spell caster. You get five players who hand you the "I'm the exception" character with 3 fighters a rogue and a barbarian.

:p

It's truly sad that I thought I was having a lot of fun running a D&D game today. Guess that brainwashing really does work, not just for me but my players as well!
