WotC brought in Jon Peterson for this ~500 page tome about the original D&D that includes never before seen notes from Gary, Dave, etc. Also, it will contain the original rule set.

As Lore & Legends is the history of 5e, this new book is the history of the founding of D&D (only).

At this point, if anyone can bring new insights to the story of D&D's creation, it's Peterson. And while I've already got the previous deluxe re-release of OD&D, including the original rules here is a nice touch.
