Sidestepping to DC for a moment, this is the one big flaw in the original Wonder Woman movie, which was otherwise head and shoulders above most other DC offerings and some MCU. The villain is the god of WAR, and the writers let this resolve with yet another CGI punch fest? Talk about a golden opportunity for a clever solution a la the first Dr. Strange movie.

Surely one defeats the god of war by choosing not to fight?!

Yeah, we knew they were going to fail to stop the monster escaping because we knew the movie was required to have a big monster fight. The formula spoiled the plot.

It did, but even worse it spoiled the themes.

I enjoyed the film, but I would have enjoyed it more had it had a better, less predictable and more appropriate ending.

I would have been disappointed had I seen it in the cinema rather than on Disney+.

It worked fine for me. I can’t even think what they might have done differently – or what I might have wanted to have happen that was different.

Unlike some other MCU movies about which I have Views.

Exactly. This was made for just a one on one fight at the end. A smaller scale doesn’t diminish the drama.

The only good thing in snore fest Shang-Chi was Trevor Salttery. If any marvel character needed a series its Trevor.

Trevor and his 2-butted wombat were great. But "snore fest?" @payn, you and I saw that movie very differently.
