Chapter 1
This is a homebrewed world using dnd 3.5 core books
Looking for 3-5 players.
Speed: I will try to keep it once every 2 days. I will also try to force a few friends from my playing group to be extra gm’s to insure that there will be a steady pace and making it 1/day.
Type of game: high fantasy, serious, funny,.
It won’t be standard Dnd. For one I don’t give out a lot of magic items. Second is that talking will be very important. There will be a lot of social class differences, power struggles and the like. (although not in the first chapter)
This does not mean that fighting capabilities is useless (far from it), but fighters that don’t involve themselves in discussions might feel bored at times. (deep personalities might be a good idea)
The first chapters setting will be when the characters are still children(between 5 and 8), in the little village that they have grown up in.
Therefore I would prefer human characters, but are willing to accept other races with good reasons.
More Info on world and setting can be gained through knowledge (first in chapter 2 though)
If something is important to you about the setting, you can ask me.
House rules:
I have some, and unfortunately I sometimes take my house rules as actual core rules (that what happens when you play with the same group for a long time
)
Some I do remember is house rules.
When bleeding to death you don’t die on -10 but rather on –con. Which makes con very important.
I am not rolling d20 but 2d10, making rolls a lot more standardized and critical a lot less often.
Critical do not inflict more dmg but a general negative bonus. (all chars have a CriticalHP equal to half their HD+con bonus)
this means that a fighter have 5 CHP+con, a wizard have 2+con.
Some races gain a natural bonus to CHP.
When receiving a critical hit the X2 will dmg 1 on CHP. X3 will dmg 2, X4 will dmg 3 and so on.
for every CHP lost you will receive a negative modifier of -1 on all rolls.
This resembles that HP is flesh wounds while CPH are broken bones, organs, pain and so on.
Barbs ignore CHP negatives while in rage.
Rogues can spend 2d6 of their sneak attack to give 1 CHP instead (needs feat)
Spell casters can over channel.
This means that it is possible to cast more spells than the normal limit, but at great risk. A fortitude save is needed every time this is attempted.
Wizards may use any spell from their spell book, but if it is one that they had not already prepared (an already cast) the DC increases with 4
Character creation
For character creation you may make an lvl 1 character, and then we either make a child version, or make the child and then for chapter two make the lvl 1 character.
To make a child you use following method
All stats are standard 8
You have 12 points you may locate in any way you like.
No one stat may have more than 13
Hp is you con bonus or 1 (whatever is best)
For lvl 1 Character use following method
All stats are standard 8
You have 32 points you may locate in any way you like.
Only one stat may be 18 (which is max)
Only one stat may be 17
One stat has to have a negative bonus. (9 or below))
As child characters I would like to know a bit about personalities. Even though there may not be many at a low age, there will be some quirks.
Also a bit about family, especially what parents are working with. It is a small village, so if two characters want their father to be the village priest they may have to be brothers (which is possible if you want)
Before the end of chapter 1 I would like to know what class people would prefer as I will then adjust the end of chapter 1. I will inform you when this happens.
