D&D 5E Elementalists (IC)

OOC: Theremin will use 1 ki points on his last attack to push the smoke mephit 10 feet and knock it prone (this is a test to see what this does to a flying creature). Theremin still has 1 set of actions, plus another one

Focusing his attention on the second smoke mephit, Theremin will attack it at distance using a swooping attack.

[sblock=ooc]Using Fist of broken air (initiated by unarmed strike, duration: inst. Your unarmed strikes are treated as 15-foot ranged attacks for that attack action, as well as the rest of the turn.)

Theremin will remain 15ft away from any enemy and fly away afterwards (he basically will do a flyby attack loop)

2 unarmed attacks + 1 bonus action one:

Attack 1: [roll0]
damage [roll1]

Attack 2: [roll2]
damage [roll3]

Bonus action attack: [roll4]
damage [roll5]

Note 1 : Theremin will use deflect missile (reaction) if hit by a ranged weapon.
Note 2 : Theremin will cast absorb energy (reaction) if hit by an energy attack that does more than 8 hp damage.

AC: 18
HP: 45/45

Putting a little extra inner energy into his blast, Theremin causes the wind from his attack to knock the Smoke Mephit he had been attacking out of the air. It's wings crumble from the force, and it goes spinning to the ground, slamming in to the pavement, exploding into puff of ash.

Theremin then flies back, attacking one of the other two smoke mephits, landing a few good hits on him.

The Steam Mephits turn as he flies by, and all three launch steam blasts at the flying monk. The remaining two Smoke Mephits do the same, only launching Ash instead.

OOC: These are opportunity attacks, and have a range of 15 feet. Make five dex saves. The first three are for steam, and each cause 4 damage on a failed save (none on a successful one), the last two are for ash, and blind you on a failed save (nothing happens on a successful one).

If you would like to use more ki points on those previous hits, I'll let you. Just let me know which ones you were aiming at.

OOC: If you will let me, Theremin will use one ki point per attack, and one attack per smoke Mephit, since they are quite effective ;-)
I'll still roll the ash saves, but FYI there is no save for the knocking prone.
Ash 1 [roll0]
Ash 2 [roll1]
steam 1 [roll2]
steam 2 [roll3]
steam 3 [roll4]

Note that depending on the saves, I may use the Become the teapot (absorb elements) as a reaction for 1 extra ki point (2 left, 1 left if I do this).

Also, Theremin still has the current round's actions to do.

Edit: Darn nice saves, Theremin won't use become the teapot!

Nacay sheaths his sword and readies a javelin for the unlucky foe that enters his reach.
OOC: ready an attack against the first foe to enter his range.

The Smoke Mephits are blown from the sky, sending them down to the ground. They survive their falls. Theremin does get burned by one of the Steam Mephits, though it does nominal damage.

One of the Smoke Mephits falling from the sky comes within range of Nacay's javelin, and he manages to skewer it, causing it to burst into a cloud of ash.

A group of figures appear from around the corner, and lift rifles to the sky. Gunshots ring out, aimed at the remaining Mephits, blowing them to pieces.

One of the figures, a gnarled old dwarf with more salt in his beard than pepper, walks up to the group and surveys the damage. He sees the melted puddles of the Ice Mephits, and the fire damage from the Magma Mephits.

"Ye survived," he said, slightly surprised. "Not many who've been caught outside can say that. O' course, ye should have just stayed inside and let the Watch handle it. That woulda been the smart thing ta do. Some people just got more skill than sense.

"Name's Fegrun. Fegrun RockFissure," the old dwarf said. "I'm the Captain of the Watch. Why don't each o' you state who you are and what your business is in Albion?"

Theremin lands 15 feet away from Fegrun, and gracefully walks forward. As he walks, he tucks his wings neatly behind his back, and he almost looks like his land-locked Elven brethren; almost.

He peacefully approaches, and his calm demeanor is a sharp contrast to the violence he just inflicted upon the mephits. He smiles and bows his head in appreciation to the others that were involved in the fight, to Fegrun and the men of the watch.

"Greetings Fegrun. Thank you to you and your men, and thank you all for your bravery" He says as he turns to the eclectic group. "I am Theremin, and landed in Albion only a few minutes ago. The elders of my order sensed an alteration in the very nature of the elements, and they sensed that the cause was here in Albion. I was chosen to investigate. It was obvious that these creatures were dangerous, and I was duty-bound to help. I apologize if I didn't follow your custom of letting the watch handle the situation; this custom was unknown to me." He pauses, and looks at the others, genuinely interested in their introductions.

Xobru is about to introduce himself to Fegrun when Theremin lands a few feet away. He looks at the elf with obvious wonder in his eyes, before realizing he's staring.

"My name is Xobruentyvir Aenovindë," the genasi elf says, both to Theremin and to the others, "And I come from a tiny village across the seas. Me and Hadar here only arrived today; we were wandering and found ourself in this huge and confusing city. Before I could finish my meal these... things... attacked, and I defended myself. I did not realize I needed permission from the town watch to do so," he finishes with more than a hint of sarcasm. His warm smile is genuine, however.

Nacay tugs his hood lowering it as far as it will go. He looks around the battlefield looking to retrieve his javelins before wandering past the dwarf heading for the temple at a casual pace. Nacay, my business is non of yours" the orc calmly states as he wanders past the dwarf.

Vimak circles once and flaps his wings steadily as he descend behind those who came out of the tavern and fought the Mephits., his immovable rod held in his feet, his weapons put away. Locking the rod about 4ft from the ground he perches there, tucking his wings tight to his sides and shifting from foot to foot a few times before settling into a comfortable spot.

His head tilts to the side. "Fall, ceiling didn't fall." His neck straightens and head perks up "Worried it would fall"

Cocking his head to the other side "Albion, you are soldier, is it Albion?" Pronouncing it wrong the first time and attempting to correct the pronunciation the second time and finishing the question with an audible click. Waiting for an answer before remembering earthbound's want names for everything, and everyone.

"Dream, Vimak chasing the Albion Dream"

Fegrun glares at Nacay, who is headed towards the Temple District, "You'll not be wantin' to go that way," he said. "It'll be the most damaged. We've got some wizards who'll be helpin' with the repairs, but it'll take a day or so to do."

He turned to the others, "It isn't so much a custom as what people have gotten used to. You're welcome to help however you can, but the city isn't responsible if you get yourselves hurt. These attacks have been happening every month or so for about half a year. These things just show up, attacking everything they can. We don't know where they come from, except that it's somewhere in the Temple District, though a few good bullets seem to take them down," he patted his riffle hanging over his shoulder. "We've gotten pretty good at keeping them contained when they show up, but sometimes a group slips by."
