Damn...missed it again. Between so many business trips and with TV being in a state of perpetual reruns lately I just can't seem to catch any new episodes.

Tivo people...free yourself from the boundaries of time concerning your television.

And, if you cannot afford the $10 a month ($5 with direct TV), you can get it for free after a one-time fee to buy a similar service run through your computer (not tivo, but does the sdame thing)

Initial reaction:

Well, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. T'Pol's abberant behavior was adequately explained. Archer's release from captivity seemed a little contrived. And I see the show is making up for its silly lack of casualties in the first two seasons.

And after finally watching it, my reaction is the opposite. It was worse than I was expecting. T'Pol's abberant behaviour, while explained, still seems contrived. I probably would have bought into it if perhaps that had a bit more foreshadowing in prior episodes. Sudden-addiction episodes never work for me.

Actually, the whole episode seemed too contrived, but I suppose how else could they have written it? It sure seemed like they kind of wrote themselves into a corner with very little wiggle room.

The ship sure took a beating and I have no idea how they intend to take on the superweapon in their current state.

I wouldn't be surprised if Archer is the reason with the soon-to-be Federation implanted directives:

1: Do not interact with pre-warp civilisations (Look But Don't Touch)
2: Do not attack neutral ships with the intent to steal vital pieces of equipment.
3: Do not assist non-federation third parties in fighting vulcans: They Are Our Allies.
4: The captain will NOT go on solo suicidal missions, that role will be filled by ensigns wearing red shirts.
5: Do not leave it to a strange alien robotic station to repair the ship: things will go bad.
6: Klingons are a highly irritable and powerful species: the captain shall not taunt them out of spite.
7: If the token vulcan science officer throws emotional fits bigger than a six year old's tantraums, security personel will inspect said officer's belongings for illegal substances.
8: Weapon's station will not be manned by officers with weird UK accents: those will be transfered to engineering.
9: Communications on the previous ENTERPRISE ship was manned by a non-caucasian female who excelled beyond the call of duty: future Federation communication officers will therefore also be non-caucasian females.
10: Crewmen have been complaining about dog hair in their food: therefore, no captain or ranking officer will be permitted to bring animal companions aboard.
