Warning/Note: at the first sign of bickering or personal nastiness from anyone, this gets shut down. We've already had to shut down one today.

That thread needing closing down anyway. After 17 pages, anything that's worth saying has already been said, and then some. (All within 24 hours, no less!)

;)

Myself, I lost interest in that post around, oh, page 6 or 7.

I like the idea. I think it would be something different and something I could get my gal into and possible introduce her to RPG. Perhaps a get together with our 'couple' friends as well.

BTW: The way the options are worded and sorted in this poll, I found it less user-friendly than it could be.

Considering the way the options are worded, I think they should first be sorted by "agree" or "disagree", then by "female" or "male", then by "adult" or "minor", then by whatever. That would make finding the option that describes yourself, much quicker.

You seem to have completely forgottn the position that many may hold - "neither approve, nor disapprove"... Disapproval suggests disliking it. What if you really don't care if it exists or not?

Do ambivalent people take polls or even care about their results?

;)

Seriously, though, I think "neither approve, nor disapprove" is a viable stance, and the option for it should be in there. Of course, that will make the list of options even longer and more difficult to wade through.

I had considered the neutral response... I would have liked to include it but there is a size limit to the number of questions at 20, no? There were other statistics I was looking for that I wanted to see--the neutral response was thus not offered. Sorry about that. :)

However, if there are really many ppl undecided/don't care, then if they post in the thread their position, I'll count the numbers up later, if possible.

Again, please folks, a reminder: let us keep things "clinical"/"scientific"/"statistical"--you know what Eric means... Thanx. :)

Approve - adult male - other (uninvolved and don't date).

I buy very few RPG products and would definitely not be spending money on "erotic publications", since I can't see them being used in my games. But if anyone wants to produce or use such products, I think they should.

I realized that after the fact. :( When one creates the poll, the preview doesn't show the exact format. My thoughts were focussed upon the single, married, children, no children parameters, and I realized gender would be very interesting too--I guess I need to take a course in survey design! :)

I neither approve nor disapprove (male, adult, committed relationship, no children).

Should this type of book be allowed to be made? Absolutely yes. Would I buy or game with anyone who would consider using this type of book in a game session? Not on your life.

I forgot... My own vote was to approve as a single, "active", adult male without kids.

However, my approval is conditional upon the degree of the content--realizing this on my part, I will speculate that many ppl's approval would be conditional... I think, the degree of acceptable content is hard to quantify, other than most ppl rejecting extremes, and it touches upon everyone's personal taste! One would hope a smart publisher has a good sense of the boundries the audience being marketed to would accept--not to mention the local laws...

This is a sticky issue when one gets down to the "nuts & bolts"! (D'oh! I don't believe I just said that! :o ) I think a publication can tastefully deal with romance & sexuality in our games--many fantasy authors do in their stories! Whether any d20 publisher actually accomplishes that, we'll see soon enough...

I think it's fine that they publish it, and that people use it, but I think it's bad for the industry vis-a-vis the directions that I want to see the game develop toward. I am a father, but I don't fit into either "approve" or "disapprove" so I didn't vote.
