"Hsss. True warriors, Iksar warriors do not need tricks to defeat their prey. Fighting foes on even ground and defeating them forthright brings honor and glory. However, i can understand why Elfses, being weaker and frailer, might resort to such tactics. Very well, i shall atempt to climb the stone and slip behind them. But i make you no promises, stealth i have never trained for." Xoranis moves towards the stone wall, and begins clawing his way up, trying his best to do so quietly.

Slowly and cautiously, Xoranis makes his way up towards the orcs as quietly as possible. The two mutter and snarl in what must be their native tongue to eachother looking outward over the ledge while Xoranis approaches from behind. Coming around the bend that turns back sharply into the mountain and then cuts east out of sight, Xoranis comes within yards of the orcs before noticing three arrow slits on the eastern wall. No shots are fired at him. He is also close enough to see that the edge the orcs stand within 5 feet of drops down the face of the mountainside a great length of at least 60 feet or more.

Staring up at the stealthily climbing lizard, Deeboo sighs under his breath. So quick to act without fully considering his options. Just as he had feared. Taking a long look, he begins calculating the distance from his position to the orc sentries.

[sblock=OOC]Assuming Deeboo has range, he'll Shock of Fire (2 mana, 130', 3d6 fire, Ref 20 halves) the orc Xoranis does not attack. Also, if he thinks one of them is going to run, he'll try to Quicken Root that one (20 mana, 130', 1d8 duration, Ref 20 negates) and prevent its escape.[/sblock]

Faryellin - High Elf Cleric

Faryellin stealthly moves closer to range for his longbow, and with a quick prayer to Tunare, prepares to send winged death towards the vile creatures standing watch. He will wait till Xoranis attacks the first creature, and send the other to its doom.

Attack roll (1d20+5=24)

Arrow damage roll (1d8=4)

If this turns into a melee, he will stand within 30' of the action, concealed and use his healing and bolstering spells as needed; or shoot bad guys not in melee with his bow.

Cursing under his breath, Xoranis closes the final distance with the Orcs.
2 Fist attacks.

#1: 1d20+8=15, 1d4+5=9
#2: 1d20+3=16, 1d4+5=8

If he kills one he will Cleave (ill roll lowest to hit): 1d20+3=12, 1d4+5=7

[SBLOCK=OOC]If Xoranis kills one, he wont allow it to slump to the ground, rather he will grab it and use it as a barrier against the arrow slots with the intent to move to a position not visible to the potential archers.[/SBLOCK]

Xoranis creeps along stealthily towards the orcs. Two solid blows to the back of the first unsuspecting orc's head send it crumpled to the ground. The third blow aimed at the second orc is dodged, but an arrow from Faryellin's bow finds it's mark and buries itself in the orc's back. The creature wavers, but manages to remain standing and raises its hand to its mouth as if to call out an alarm. At the last second, Deeboo conjures a gout of flame upon the orc killing it instantly and leaving its corpse smoldering on the ground. Still no arrows are fired from the arrow slits.

Xoranis pushes both dead orcs off the cliff, and creeps towards the arrow slots, trying to stay out of sight of any who might be behind them.

Voadam

Legend
Voadam draws his dark netted cloak about him and moves forward stealthily to join the monk. He glances to see if the orcs dropped any weapons to the ground before being tumbled off the mountain.

The paladin sighs. "Well at least the sentries are taken care of, though it was not a very honorable tactic. Still, the best tactical option at the time. We should resume our approach to the entrance."

Nielloryn ignores the iksar's insult from a few moments ago and resumes approaching the entrance, an arrow now drawn and nocked upon his longbow. He makes certain to be as quiet as possible in his heavy armor, so as not to give any orcs inside the entrance too much advance warning of his approach.

The only weapons on the orc corpses are battleworn and rusted, but still functional. Each orc has a greataxe and a couple of javelins.

Broad shallow steps lead down a tunnel doubling back into the mountain and turning east into the mountainside. Here, a broad entrance has been carved out of the stone. Marble steps cracked with age and veined with green moss lead up to a strong double door of carved stone, 8 feet wide and almost 10 feet tall. In addition to the arrow slits you must walk by to reach the door, two more are carved high on the north and south walls commanding the area immediately in front of the door. Upon inspection, you discover the massive door is firmly locked shut.
