This happened before: to know if a flaming burst weapon is ALSO flaming, or an icy burst is ALSO a frost weapon and so on.
In DMG description of these enchantments, it is said that a flaming burst weapon is also a flaming weapon. Flaming gives +1d6 fire damage, while Flaming burst give +1d10 on critical hits.
The discussion was if on crit a Flaming burst does +1d10 or +1d10+1d6.
Sorry to bring back this pain, but I just rolled for such a weapon in a treasure and I am very confused again. The "Flame tongue" specific weapon description, the weapon is specifically BOTH Flaming AND Flaming Burst, and the price is for a +4 Longsword: +1 (base) +1 (Flaming) +2 (F.Burst).
So how was that Flaming Burst damage really? For both crits and normal damage???
