the club is swung true with the first swing, but he is in an ackward confined position that interferes with the back swing.

Zorn, seeing the creature's limb grab Harrison, reacts quickly.

He quickly conjures a spell to hurl at the beast.

ooc: cast Magic Missile.

5 missiles of magical energy fly out and strike the beast.

Ballista steps up onto the wall for a better angle and releases a trio of arrows into the oozie inside of the vat. hit=28, arrow=12, cold=4, hit=23, arrow=13, cold=5, hit=26, arrow=10, cold=1

Fin's getting nowhere near that vat and looks around to see if he can throw anything at the creature, not thinking his arrows or rapier would have much effect on the amorphous foe.

Init is +4 so I can't go after it. Spot is +11 for finding an object to throw. Thrown object gets +6 to roll (+6 BAB, +4 Dex, -4 improvised weapon).

Worst case he'll try throwing one of the vials/potions at the cube and see if anything reacts that way.
