FR 3.5 Silverymoon - OOC

Hail everyone. I am posting this to assess any interest in d20 Modern. I personally do not own any of the books, however, I have fond memories of playing Top Secret "Back in the Day", and I am thinking about taking up the call. Yes, perhaps I am dating myself a bit, but I am curious if there is an interest with you folks for this type of game.

This is all preliminary, so nothing is going to start up in the next week or so, I am just putting a feeler out there.

Sounds like fun. I do own the main book and would like to participate.

Fraid I dont have the books and I think I should slow down with the number of games I am in. Thank you for considering us first, hope things proceed as smoothly with any group that you do gather. This game is certainly great!

I used to play Top Secret myself. But I try to control my role-playing addiction by limiting myself to DnD exclusively. There are plenty of D20 modern players on this board certainly.

I for one am not overly interested in d20 modern, and not having any of the books doesn't really help, I suppose! :)

Map for the Combat coming...

Thanx for your quick reponses to the Silverymoon Game everyone. I am going to put together a map so you can get an idea as to where you are and what is going on. I will not be back home to do this until late tonight, so this may not show up until tomorrow some time. So, sit tight. :)

Combat Map

Hey there Breezly!

Thanks for drawing up that map! I have just a couple of questions though.

Would it be possible to make the squares a little bit bigger so that the creatures/characters fit in the squares and don't go out of them too much? (I mean for future maps). If it'd be too much trouble I can deal with it how it is. Sorry I'm somewhat of a semi-perfectionist.. hehe :)

Would it be possible to get a corresponding letter and number system lining up the squares? Meaning, in the top left start with A and go down to Z (if more then 26 squares start over after z with AA and go to ZZ), and then across the top from left to right number from 1 to (whatever number)..? That way we can say "I move from f-13 to j-13 to attack the orc in square j-14" Might be a bit easier to describe exact movements and such that way..?

As to the map as how it currently stands, I've figured out that the guys with silver capes and blue shields are the "Knights in Silver" and the large thing with the axe is the Ogre, but can you tell us what the rest of them are? I'm going to guess that the small green guys are goblins, and the large green guys are orcs? Are the guys with the yellow shawls and red bottoms that wield spears humans that are also fighting the orcs/gobs? What are the two green people that are sitting in the wagons?

Also, I'm a bit confused as by when you say "Let me know what you want to do and then I will post a combat turn." The reason I'm confused is that in my last post I had stated that fizzle has his mount run down to about 30 feet from the combat as he is drawing one of his darts while his mount moves, where he will dismount and start sizing up his opponents to make an attack.... are we assuming that *that* has already happened, or are we going to be operating on the turn of which we had our mounts run down to the area? Please let me know! :)

~Wonka

P.S.- Just wanted to say that I'm giving quick responses because I'm enjoying the game so much Breezly! It's a really cool way to bring everyone together and give us motivation to go out and accomplish things all wrapped up in one! And it's very much appreciated of all the time that you're obviously putting into the game! Thanks! :)

Yes, I can do both of those. I wanted to put together a map for you to get an idea as to the action around you. The combatants are purposfully unlabled as you are looking at a maelstrom of a battle and it is difficult to see who is who. I wll label the squares though. I wanted to give you an opportunity to alter your actions given the map.

Ok, sounds good! :)

Combat turn

Hey there Breezly,

Just wondering, have we lost Enalia the Moon Elf Barbarian (played by Seonaid)..?

About Fizziwikk's mount on the map, it would look as if he is riding a large creature, when in actually he's riding a Riding Dog, which is a medium creature and only takes up a 5-ft space...? (and this would place both fizzi and his mount only occupying one square, which would be square GG-20)

I just have a quick rules question about mounted archery. As I understand it, I have no penalties for using a ranged weapon while mounted UNLESS my mount takes a double move, correct? (so if my mount only moves it's normal speed, I will have no penalties to my attack, yes?)

Thanks!

I have not heard from here in a little while so the moon elf is dragging slightly behind the others, she saw a tree that caught her eye. So, if she catches up (read posts) then I will include her in the combat...that reminds me, I need to add a Wolf to the map for Willow.

I have very limited Mounted figures, they are all on horse. I will reduce the size in the next map to accomodate the smaller dog, so you are correct.

That is correct, no penalty. -4 for dbl move, -8 for running.
