This might sound a little sad, but I've actually met quite a few girls online.

*pauses until the "boo!" and "hiss!" dies down*

Seriously, though. I met my first wife through online dating, I met my first mistress through online dating..............

Ahem.. I met my current wife through online also.

It's not too bad. Meet someone, get to know them, and hopefully they won't tell you that they're 5'9", 120 lbs, with blonde hair.. and turn out to be 6'4", 275 lbs, and have many tattoos gained from a prison sentance.. and all you guys who hate the thought of the 'dating scene' should do ok.

Just try not to lie.. ever... No matter how small, it always comes back to hit you right in the face. My first wife wasn't totally honest about some things heh... yeah.. (but no, she wasn't a guy or anything...). It can get real messy when you start lying.

Look for a S.O. who has a profile with interest in gaming!

Hey I can't knock online dating either....During the time between my first marriage and now, I met a lot of women thru online. Some turned out to be absolutely terrific...others turned out to be soul-shattering (bleep)-ups of Lovecraftian proportions. It's a crap shoot, with the emphasis sometimes on "crap".

One of them wasn't named Patty, by chance? I have one of those in my checkered past...before the internet even... I still jump at the mention her name.

I'm engaged to a wonderful non-gamer that is slowly taking steps into gamerdom. (She has no interest in D&D, but will happily play Zombies!!! or the occasional round of DOOM: The Boardgame.)

While I've had a few HORRIBLE experiences dating online (via Match.com), it's through that site that I met my future wife, so I can't knock it one bit.

Happily married. Lady IronWolf does not game, but doesn't have an issue with me gaming as long as I keep it reasonable. We have bumped up to a weekly game now, so that matches pretty much what I have time for and it works out well.

Last week, I celebrated 9 years with my gaming SO. (Can't marry him in this state, more's the pity...)

He wasn't really a gamer prior to our relationship, despite a few experiences with a LARP. I guess you could say that I've corrupted him, because now we both play in one bi-weekly game, and he plays in a weekly Eberron campaign I'm running! ;)

I don't recall her name...I think that, after I failed my SAN check, I also mercifully failed my Idea roll, so I couldn't fully grasp the enormity of the horror and thus go insane!

I'm engaged to a gamer.

When we started dating, I told her Friday nights were out because I already had standing plans to "hang out with the guys." A few weeks later, when she asked me what my friends and I did when we got together on Fridays, I hesitated briefly before telling her about our weekly gaming sessions.

I feared what her reaction might be, but she told me she had participated in a game years before and expressed interest in sitting in on a session of my game, so we welcomed her. Within weeks she was rolling up a character for my D&D campaign and a Delta Green campaign we also had going at the time.

She now jokes that I've gotten her hooked on gaming, citing the fact that within the 2 years we've been together she's amassed a collection of 7 sets of dice; I bought her the first 2 sets.

Incidentally, yesterday was the second anniversary of our first date -- a haunted house on Halloween.

Yttrai and I have been together for 3 years as of last night, as well (actually, it was the 26th of October, but it was a Halloween party, so we mark the date as Halloween. I noticed earlier that Piratecat and KidCuthulu met then too. Apparently Halloween is "gamer hunting season".
