Good "Dwarven-y" forms for alter self and polymorph.

AbetheGnome mentioned making a dwarven gish, which got me off on the same tangent. I started thinking about it and I really like the idea myself: A dwarven fighter/transmuter/runesmith. I might end up statting this guy out and using him as an NPC at some point.

Polymorph would be fun, and so would alter self. Can you think of any good earthy-feeling creatures to change into? The standard trog for alter self and troll for polymorph just don't feel right for a dwarf.

Stone giant (might be on the skinny side for a dwarf)

Gargoyle might be fine.

If you can somehow get the construct type, Stone Golem. Earth elemental if you can get that type.

Umber Hulk(polymorph), Rust Monster(polymorph/more as scare tactic than anything else), Orc/Goblinoid(alter self/mever know when you might need to bluff your way through a warband), Oozes(polymorph/helps get through tight places), Delver(polymorph/it may look stupid but I can see dwarves connecting their underground cities with highways made by dwarven casters polymorphed into delvers)
