4th for me (if you count french. Well, I don't count it, so it's 3rd for me, too).

And it's something you have to live with. Same as the rogue/rouge or faint/feint thing. Or lose/loose....

Isn't there a rule that you can't use a free action to do the same thing in the same round twice? Or something to that effect? That's a lot of free actions going on...

The rule is that you can't use two quickened spells in the same round. There are certainly precedents for using multiple versions of the same free action twice, aside from rapid reload. Quick draw, for thrown weapons would be such a one.

If Hand Crossbows are easy enough to pull back by hand, they should be easy enough to pull to try this:

You've got two hooks on your hip holsters - push the hand crossbow down on the hook, pulling the string back, and it reloads. You could do this one handed. Add in a clip of bolts, and the pull back action would also load a new bolt.

With one hand crossbow in each hand and reloading one handed, I think I'd allow it. Maybe one more feat.

Oh, and each clip must be a Quiver of Olidammara, otherwise you'd run out of bolts in like two rounds. (It's like a Quiver of Ehlonna, but it holds bolts. The only downside is that every now and then ol' Olly pulls a trick on you and it shoots out a little red flag that says "bang")

Cimmrion Six-Shooters? Not converted yet...

But, there are those sweet Dart-thrusters from Underdark.
