Now you're putting words in my mouth. Nothing wrong with the setting itself, if that's your thing. But it's a bit twinky for my liking. Eberron is the power creep setting, IMO. Thus my response.

Hrm, a setting where NPC's are limited to about 10th level is the power creep setting. :uhoh: Just saying.

sound kind fun

a little more powerful then the games i get to play in but i think i could still kill some of them with a few of my characters mad love for the palemaster

My PCs start a lot weaker... but at level 13? I'd say comparable.

I tend not to give these slot-less enhancements that you hand out... yet every PC sooner or later ends up with a few magic items that grow in level with him...

Statbonuses and extra feats add up as well... and now and then a template is added if it happens to fit.

"My mofos would beat the crap out of your mofos!" ;)

I think players in my typical game would be on par with yours. Probably more susceptible to Mordenkainens Dys... but usually on par.

Yeah. Agamon cracked me up with that comment.

No, no - you're supposed to say, "My imaginary mofos would beat the imaginary crap out of your imaginary mofos!"

Reality is just another imaginary game someone else plays ;)

And mofos are mofos, no matter where.

Shilsen, could you give examples of the evil tactics you use to challenge these badasses?
Well, I can only say what I do... but the things I give my PCs are the same things my NPCs get :D

I'm busy prepping some last-minute stuff for my game today (have to leave in 2 hours), so I can't post a response right now, but I'll probably do one tonight. Maybe I should start a different thread on it, so other DMs can also post ideas and tactics?

Maybe it's just me, but I could never really enjoy doing that, since then there's no challenge for me. As a DM, I always enjoy the tactical challenge of designing encounters where the PCs go up against enemies who are much lower level, significantly worse equipped, lacking all these special abilities and bonuses that the PCs have (essentially an encounter that, according to the CR/EL charts should be a walkover for the PCs), and finding a way through judicious use of tactics and teamwork to give the PCs a really hard time. A lot of the time, I intentionally underequip the NPCs for their level and/or restrict myself purely to core rules, just to make it a tougher job for myself and heighten the challenge.

But then we all know I'm nuts :)
