Yeah. I don't get it. The guy has won countless awards and has starred in less-typed roles most recently including SF, action, Psy-Thriller, etc. Known as a meticulous character actor. I believe he's a great choice for the villain; and I doubt he'd be aboard if the script sucked.
Genres such as horror, drama, comedy, action, adventure, crime, and mystery? What genres do you care about? ;)

I don't generally go for.

Horror. Boring not scary or tense. Watched Alien last week but generally avoid.

Drama. Depends on how it's done.

Comedy. Not a favorite I watch the occasional one.

Mystery doesn't do it for me at all.

Sci fi, fantasy, war, action, animated probably more up my alley. Rewatching stuff on Disney+.

Recent watches

Alien franchise
Assassin's Creed
Predator franchise
Romancing the Stone
Jewel of the Nile (eh)
Karate Kid
Fast and Furious franchise
Serenity

Probably do Karate Kid 2, LotR next and some stuff on Disney+. Prefer longform TV series.

Exactly I never got into horror in a major way. Functionally I had no age limits on what I was allowed to watch or read.

Aliens scared the crap out of me (aged 9 or so), aged 10-12 got to read about Hiroshima and Holocaust and watched the videos aged 13 or so at high school history. We could opt out only two us us stomached it.

Something like Saw or Hostel is kinda gross but doesn't scare me just prefer not to watch it as gore porn doesn't do much for me.

Mystery not a fan either but wouldn't mind seeing Knives Out.

Knives Out is excellent (although I do like the genre). It's also a good example of actors playing characters very different to those they are usually known for, and doing it very well.

I'm pretty much waiting for it to hit a streaming service.

Might resort to hiring it through the Xbox/playstation.

There's not really any genre I point blank refuse to watch more preferences vs required.

It was quite good, though hearing Foghorn Leghorn's voice come out of Daniel Craig stopped me in my tracks the first time he opened his mouth.

That was, I think, the first movie I saw him in. Definitely a trippy piece.

I've just remembered, Hugh Grant has done (Horror) fantasy before, a long time ago: he played James D'Ampton in Lair of the White Worm (1988).

Also, I feel like I should add that Hugh Grant's full name is in fact "Hugh John Mungo Grant."
