And what happened to spell lists by level? It's all mashed together in one huge bunch now, with cleric and magic-user spells thrown in with druid spells. I can't see any kind of system to it at all!!

They've done what?!? How the heck am I supposed to find the spell I'm looking for if they are in alphabetical order?

Have they fixed the problem of one spell refering to another spell, so you had to keep flicking backwards and forwards to see what the spell actually did?

On the other hand, if they have fixed that its going to look very strange to see the cleric's hold person spell followed by the illusionist's hold person spell followed by the magic user's hold person spell, all with the full text written out rather than refering to each other like in the good old days.

Have they still got Gnomes as a playable race? I like to have options as a player, so if there are less than seven playable races I'm not going to be happy.

And have they fixed that ridiculous loophole where you could play a multi-classed ranger/druid even though rangers have to be good and druids have to be true neutral?

And how is only having three saves going to work? Which ones have they left out? I bet one of them is Breath Weapon - its going to make fighting dragons even more dangerous if their breath weapons don't have a save any more.

I also heard a rumour that there are pictures of all the weapons. It will be nice to finally find out what a lochaber axe, bec-de-corbin and lucerne hammer actually look like.

I mean, wtf? spontaneous spells? I cannot see any player not wanting to play one. The wizards got ganked!

Simililarly, the new druid and cleric...that conversion-to-healing/summon nature's ally spellcasting? I mean, holy crap!

I may have bought the book, but I am definetely returning it. And I recommend that all my friends do the same.
This edition is a munchkins wet dream, and I'll not have it.

First analysis

Boy the Rogue sure is overpowered... way too many skill points. Rangers and Paladins got hosed, and the bit about attacks of opportunity is pretty confusing... Maybe it will be a little clearer when I have actual miniatures in front of me.

the PHB i just bought doesn't have the Rogue.
